| Ezy Ryder10-15-03, 04:48 PM | Hello! I'm planning on playing a human fighter in my friend's Dragonlance campaign. I am thinking about a light-armored dual-wielding swashbuckler (something like the "Mad Irishman" character from Braveheart ;)). Improved Disarm seems quite reasnonable in 3,5, so I've picked it at 1st level, along with experitse and two-weapon fighting. My next move will be weapon finesse, due to my high dexterity (18). I also thought about multiclasing with a rouge (sneak attack) later. It would be great if You could share some ideas with me. Also some links to similar threads on this boards could help. BTW: I'm kind of new to this boards, so: Hello Everyone! BTW2: Gosh, I'm really sorry for my english. I know it sucks. I'm from Poland. |

Here was my thought Human fighter/rogue Ftr.1: Weapon finesse, TWF, Weapon focus Shortsword Ftr.2 :Improved Init Ftr.3:Combat Reflexes Ftr4:Weapon spec:shortsword after fourth level get into rogue...then I was thinking run straight rogue. Stay with the shortsword in both hands so you get beneits from the weapon feats in your ftr levels. You should have alot of HP compaerd to an average rogue, not too mention the better BAB. This build will get you through the early levels with the HP and and such. Use SA every time possible...EVERY time possible. Not much should be able to get out of the way with the Improved init, weapon focus, weapon spec, weapon finesse, dex mod. At least not at your character level. Could be a mages nightmare with some invisibility. With the early fighter levels you can probably survive the fight if you dont disembowel him with the initial SA. Just an idea. I am sure more ideas will poor in, and better ones I am sure. |
| Funny Slaughter10-15-03, 06:20 PM | my favoriute rogue-fighting-technique is, hands up, spring attack. exchanging full-rounds with a tank is not the rogues strength. get the sneak-damage in and outshine the always dying parties tank :) anyhow, my favorite base for a human is rogue3(4)/barbarian1/fighter1(2) in brackets: optional continued with the PrC of choice. pure rogue is not bad either, ranger2/fighter2/rogue16 is kind of the iconic build over here. welcome over here, happy gaming, gs Funny |

Other than the speed and rage powers...which could be very useful (hmm....rage, SA with TWF...ouch for damage)..a couple of big HD never hurt anyone. Any probs would be overcome with your dex bonus, and BAB. ammended build ftr1 ftr2 barb1 rogue1 rogue 2 With the correct selection of feats...this could be a very good basis for the ultimate hit man style character. Get close, SA and absolutley ravage your target. I would probably alternate levels between barb/rogue to about a 3rd or 4h level barb max. I dont see the point in gaining any more levels in fighter unless you need to get weapon spec...but there is alot of other skills I would rather use for this build. Get to rogue2 ASAP. |

| Funny Slaughter10-16-03, 05:44 PM | never start with fighter if you have some other class to start with. rogue is your best bet, getting these skillpoints multiple times is just too sweet. gs Funny |
