I'm creating a character for a level 14 game and I'm planning to make a Sacred Fist. The character is a nature priest of sorts, probably with the Plant or Beast domain. The game is based in Dominaria, the setting in which Magic: The Gathering is based and this character would be an out and out green creature.

I don't want to play a druid because the party needs a dedicated healer. A cleric's monotheism and focus on a deities doesn't fit the agnostic nature priest concept. So I decided on Shaman. But I'm not sure whether to play the Spirit Shaman from CD, or the recently 3.5ed OA Shaman. Which is better?

Combat wise, this character will be a tactician - Improved Trip, Defensive Throw, Defensive Strike will be liberally used to lockdown enemy movement. If I have enough feats, Spring Attack to move in and out, healing party members whenever and wherever needed.

Any suggestions on more feats I could take?

If you're using the shaman re-write from Dragon 318, I'd strongly recommend using that. You get improved unarmed damage, (although technically the damage from shaman and sacred fist don't stack, you should be able to work something out with your DM) some bonus feats, turn undead (for divine might), and +cha to saves.

Spirit shamans also suffer from needing 2 high stats for good spellcasting (wis and cha)

Also, a shaman can fairly easily qualify for sacred fist without taking any monk levels which will make you a better spellcaster, and you can wear a mithril breastplate and still get the full class benefits.
