Ok, here's the situation. Me and a friend are codming a game, each of us running a campaign. Midway, around lvl 13 or so, we decided that we would hold a tournament (right now his party is around lvl 2, I still have to start mine).

Now, apparently the other party is metagaming to the point where they are planning to ambush and slay my party. I need advice on potential character builds that could stand against an 8 party onslaught (that is, with the help of 3-5 other party members).

Right now, alignment isn't set in stone, so I just need builds. Anti-caster monk builds would probably help, considering the other dm's party are all getting leadership.

Please help me, I don't want my party to die, but I don't want to give them a lvl 20 characters purse in order to prevent it.

If you want an evil Zhentarim party just look here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=171012)

Or check the min/max vault (http://minmax.neonsamurai.de) - lots of good builds and links to build threads there (http://minmax.neonsamurai.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=Web_Links&file=index&req=viewlink&cid=3).

Beware when teleport comes available. Until then the whole party should have means to have non-detection 24/7. A very effective (and deadly) strategy is to scrye on the enemy party and wait until they rest for the night, then when only one enemy character is on nightwatch teleport in, fully buffed and then lay waste on your enemies.

Besides that an open confrontation usually is a 50/50 luck game (assuming both parties are averagely he same power level) and is usually dominated by clerics and mages (sorc/wiz). Even specialized anti-caster builds are getting spanked badly when the game reaches mid to high levels, so i won't rely too much on them.

If you're speaking of merely adding a character to the party of already existing PC's Snow's Quadruple threat (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174583) is what you need.

If you're looking for an entire party... Read this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174240) thread. You won't find builds, but you can find those all over the place.

I want to second the oppinion that an anti-caster melee guy isn't really going to do the trick for you. If you know the other party is caster heavy, use silence liberally and then mop-up.

Right now, the I have 2 definate players. The "world game" is part of a club at my school. I have a constructer/shaper and a half-giant werewolf tripper (same build I asked for advice on earlier).

I think I will be able to pull another 2-4 players, but I wanted some advice on what I could recomend that they play. Ya, I'll also have to recomend the mageslayer feat from miniatures handbook aswell to all of the melee players. Hmmm, need to give a cleric of bahamut dragon cohort...

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to advise the party members on possible solutions to their problem. Unfortunately their party is a little evil, and is actively trying to search out the party. Must give out helms of nondetection.

If you're looking for pure bashing power you should concentrate on clerics for melee and sorcs/wizards for blasting magic. Later leadership may be very effective with the right cohort (bard/warchanter or mystic theurge come to my mind)
