AeshKrau Illumian word combination allows you to base your bonus spells per day to your Strength modifier instead of your normal casting stat. The question is should your strength change during the day what would happen to the bonus spell slots? Are they lost if your strength is lowered?

My question is, how can this sigil combination be abused? Does it help the Sorceror/Eldritch Knight dodge a bit of MAD?

My question is, how can this sigil combination be abused? Does it help the Sorceror/Eldritch Knight dodge a bit of MAD? Vaguely. It's notebly good for characters with multiple sets of spells based on different attributes (IE: mystic theurges) but as they're not frontline types they might be better going with the Dex version. Chameleons can emulate combat-able mystic theurges after level 7 or so, and with the chameleon attribute boosts you can boost your strength even further.

Get infected with Festering Anger (Book of Vile Darkness), and find a way to get rid of the Con damage. ;)

Consider.

Sorceror 6/Eldritch Knight 10/Spellsword 4.

9th level spells, BAB of +17. If everything's based off strength, you can build yourself as much more melee-focused, letting your stats be more in the realm of 15, 12, 15, 10, 8, 8. That's a pretty cheap build right there.

Last I checked, AeshKrau just did bonus spells. So this guy could get a bunch of bonus spells, but he can't cast any of them, with his 8 Cha. Festering Anger with AeshKrau, though, is nuts. You'd be casting spells with practically no upper limit.

I can't find such ruling though...is it in ability damage or something?

Fair cop. I didn't realise that 3.5 gish gave much of a damn about their spell DCs, since a lot of the good spells either don't give saves at all, or require touch or ranged touch attacks.

You're gonna burn 3 feats on armour (heavy)?

Sorceror 6/Eldritch Knight 2/Dragonslayer 1/Spellsword 3/Eldritch Knight 8

or funky spell channeling:

Sorceror 6/Eldritch Knight 2/Dragonslayer 1/Spellsword 4/Eldritch Knight

In those orders.. otherwise the -ASF from the spellsword will be a long way off.

This is what I get for whipping builds off the top of my head without double-checking prerequisites. Apologies. :P

As far as the builds go, just check out any of the Gish threads.

Whenever you cast a spell that raises your relevant spellcasting stat, you do not gain bonus spells for it. It's stated in a FAQ, I believe. That said, I don't think short term stat improvements (like spells) should work.

However nothing states that a spell that changes your stat into a fixed number wouldn't allow you to memorize bonus spells according to the new stat.My question is about a Arcane Hierophant Illumian i am planning to make...would wildshaping (or Polymorphing for that matter) be considered temporary ability bonus through a spell?

Disclaimer: I have been known to be wrong...

What happens to spells when your attributes change is a wonderous and many-faceted thing.

For a character preparing spells, all that matters is the attribute when spells are prepared. If you have AeshKrau and you Dracopoly into a Titan, prepare spells, and then go back to normal, you still have the elevated number of spell slots.

If you spontaniously cast spells (and here I could be wrong) what matters is your current attribute. If your AeshKrau sorcerer takes an 8-hour nap, uses all of his spell slots except one for Dracopoly, and dracopolies into a titan, he suddenly can cast more spells.

If your primary spellcasting attribute that governs your ability to cast spells of a certain level (Int, Wis, or Cha) drops or raises, you loose or gain the ability to cast spells of that level immediately.

The only way I know of for a prepared spellcaster to loose slots beyond using them is the much dreaded Negative Level.

...

So yes, AeshKrau rocks the Gish. For Chameleons I prefer UurKrau, as demonstrated in my Illumian Artificer 5/Chameleon 7 build.

They take the Adaptive learner feat and 8-4 ranks of the appropriate skills, just like any other [human] ;)
