We all start at first level. The other players have already picked their characters and have chosen, Human wizard (evoker), Human Elementalist (Wu jen), and earth genasi bard! So it looks like we need a combat/tank sort of guy. I want to be human, and deal/take alot of damage so I can protect the casters. I rolled: 13, 13, 8, 16, 14, 16. I wish to play LN alignment. Character is a young, vagabond who came to Diamond lake after escaping the clutches of an orc lords harem. |

| Sieylianna08-26-05, 12:57 PM | Unless your DM is incredibly easy on your group, the lack of a cleric in your group will be a fatal mistake. I'd suggest you go for a tank cleric even though it's going to hurt your fighting prowess. Ed |

| Gallameed08-27-05, 05:28 AM | Ok, Ive decided to go for a cleric tank after a talk with the DM, he thinks it might be a very good idea, also the campaign will tend to be undead heavy. So, Dawnbringer of the Morninglord it is then. can I have an undead slaying cleric/tank build with a exotic weapon perhaps? Any Wizards books allowed, as for a race, I prefer human but maybe someone else has a good idea? Multiclass fighter/cleric or just cleric? Any other class I should dip into, prestige classes? I'm looking for a nice clear progression from 1st lv to 20th. *BUMP* :D |
| Battousai08-27-05, 07:09 AM | For an undeath-heavy campaign , there's always the classical Cleric/Radiant Servant/Morninglord which can hurts undeath badly. If you have access to Heroes of Battle , take a look at the combat medic. |
| Count Grim08-27-05, 07:20 AM | If your DM allows, the Flame Steward PRC in Dragon Mag #283 makes for an awesome addition to a cleric tank. Spell progression is slowed, but every other level gets you a +1 inherent bonus to strength and +3 hit-points. In between are spell-like abilities related to holy flame (1/2 fire/1/2 divine damage) like Sacred Firefan: Burning Hands as a spell-like ability (at will) anyone? Base attack is as a fighter's with saves focused on Fortitude and Willpower. I ran a Half-orc Cleric/ Fighter/ Flame Steward that was the penultimate tank, able to heal himself and others, use protection and support spells, turn undead, and deal quite a bit of damage...Ah, good times. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth. |
