| horndgod01-04-07, 02:19 AM | This is just a rough workup, but at the moment, I'm thinking Wizard7/ Nar Demonbinder1/ Ultimate Magus10 Using Alacritous Cogitation, a Wizard7 can now cast 1st level spells spontaneously. A Wizard7 easily qualifies for Nar Demonbinder. Because of the mechanic of Nar Demonbinder caster levels, the characters Wizard caster level will always be less than that of the Nar Demonbinder half. Since the Ultimate Magus gives exactly 6 levels of dual casting increases and the NarD is 7 levels long, the character will exactly finish the NarD spell progression as the UM is finished. Also, the Wizard half of the equation loses only one effective spell caster level to the NarD1, as the UM increases the Wizard casting at every level for the aforementioned reasons. This leaves us with an 18 level character with the abilities of a 17 level wizard, only one level behind straight wizards and on par with the spell acquisition of Sorcerors. The downside, of course, is the need to keep both Int and Cha high to take full advantage of casting ability, although Augmented Casting does mitigate this to some extent, and we can unusually add spells known of 1st-3rd level to a class that doesn't have slots that low. |
