| FireAge11-29-05, 03:35 AM | I'm working with my DM to build a level 17 BBEG alienist summoner. I'd like some help fleshing out the build. Planned progression: 1-5 Conjurer variant UA (swap out familiar for rapid summoning) (swap out scribe scroll for augment summoning) 6 Mindbender (telepathy 100 ft) 7-16 Alienist 17 Shadow Adept Flaws: Feeble and Noncombative Feats: 1: Augment Summoning, feat, feat, feat, (human feat?) 3: feat 6: feat 9: feat, metamagic feat 12: feat 13: metamagic feat 15: feat Feats I'm thinking of: Insightful Reflexes [General] (CAdv p110) Nexus Method (Dragon #319) Improved Toughness [General, Fighter] (CWar p101) Obtain Familiar [General] (CArc p81) Improved Familiar Any suggestions would be appreciated, most of the stuff written is changeable, but we want 10 levels of alienist to get that Cthulhu feel :coolcthul |

| FireAge11-29-05, 09:47 AM | I was referring to the swap out because of the UA conjurer variant. But I'll have a look tonight whether they differ, because that would be nice, +8 str and con on your summoned monsters :) EDIT: Just looked it up. The feat scribe scroll is replaced by the feat augment summoning. So no prereqs needed, and no stacking. |
| FireAge11-30-05, 07:58 AM | I was thinking of using the following strategy: Combine the feat sudden extend or sudden empower with timestop, no sure which one applies. This will give me a lot of rounds. Now summon a lot of monsters (1d4+1 per round) to surround the party, and cast mirage arcana. Use shapechange to turn into one of the monsters you summoned. This should have a nice effect on the party: "... suddenly the enemy is gone and you find yourself surrounded in the area of your worst nightmare, surrounded by horrific masses of tentacles. Roll a will save.. " :) |
