The srithilar grafts from Book of Madness grant +2 to str, con and/or dex, for only 110k per (heh, slightly more then a Tome...but its untyped!), and can also feed you a +4 racial bonus to Initiative, balance, Tumble and Escape artist (initiative builds should find that nice.) And, of course, they are permanent and non-magical, although a DM can and probably would rule they don't apply if you polymorph...since all the changes to your body go away. Would the Hulking Hurler build do another few million pts of dmg now? ==Aelryinth |
| Yare06-30-05, 06:35 PM | What's with the condescension in the thread title? |
| Auxryn06-30-05, 09:06 PM | I sometimes think that optimizations make the WoTC people sad. After all, it makes so much work for them. On the other hand, it keeps them in business. |
| aelryinth06-30-05, 10:22 PM | Because I'm not going to call you 'twinkie-hounds' or 'Munchking Mavens', THOSE are condescending. Little optimizers likens you to little gnomes bending over rulebooks with quiet, yet sinister 'hee hee hees' as you, like me, find another rule to lawyer into effect. I LIKE seeing the minds here at work. No condescencion implied...I noted that I hadn't seen the bonuses on any of the builds here yet. That does imply that I read them, yes? ==Aelryinth |

I like the tag. Maybe not the 'hee-hee' part, although I definitely do chuckle when I see how certain things from various books just click together. But I've come to expect that from WotC, since that strategy is the essence of MtG, their bread and butter. Maybe colm_l objected to the 'little' part. But there definitely IS a breed of player who scours the books and makes the numbers work in their favor. Its fighting back against crap like beholders. Now THOSE are muchkin-monsters. |
| Alaina07-02-05, 12:50 AM | Plus, the original point of the post, that the grafts from BoM are silly-sick, is dead-on true. |
