| Lo77o09-03-05, 04:48 PM | Ok, i friend of mine is running a campaign, and i will be joining them for a few sessions. The thing is the rest of the group just thinks im going to be a player like them, but im acctualy just going to control an low lvl npc villan sidekick. The things i know about the campagin is that the other players are a level 11 elven wizard (some multiclassing with prc's), a lvl 12 dwarven fighter/dwarven defender, a lvl 11 half-elf bard, lvl 11 human druid. Ok, iv been told by the DM that the charecters is well optimized, and i shouldent concern myself with there survivability. What i need is a lvl 10 build, that can realy have some fun with these guys, but allso be able to stay in contact on a regular basis with the BBEG "Fallen Paladin/Blackguard Vampire" Now i have no intentions on killing any of the other players "boss said NO", all i realy need is keep an eye on them and report to the BBEG, however if i can trip up their plan every now and then i should... offcourse without being noticed. So i need help with the build, allso i need help with fun little tricks i can do to the party, and most of all i need help with a covor story, since its mostly role-playing, not roll-playing in the group. Any help would be realy nice. ____________________ Allowed books: Most 3.5, except dragon mag, and varient rules, however, since ill be on the DM side, i would imagine i would be cut some slack if i need it. |

A psyrogue (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723a) might be fun, also, maybe with PsyAssassin levels. There are tons of ways you could communicate covertly with the BBEG using magic. I'm guessing the DM will come up with that part. One that comes to mind, though, is through a set of Ring Gates. That way, you could even pass small items back and forth with him, if you needed to. ;) And he could even come through it in gaseous form, if he needed (of course, that would be a bad thing, if he's way more powerful than the party. But I'll leave that discretion to the DM, lol.) |

Keeping them busy elsewhere while the boss fortifiies or getting a feel for how powerful they are. - Maybe your Divinations can lead the party into conflict with one of the bosses other enemies? - You can lead them to believe that their enemy has a weakness to cold/fire whatever when that is really your boss' strength. - You have communication options galore with your boss, but you can fake messages from the players' benefactors, lieges & allies. - Mind reading - Non-detection spells/powers to mask your intent and alignment - Will you be an offensive powerhouse? No, but for creating havoc and gathering intel on a group of enemies Seer seems well suited. Lastly, it might be sort of fun and challenging to have to make up your own divination results on the spot. not to mention trying to convince the party that your bad advice was a simple misunderstanding of the divination etc. |

As a side note though, I believe the half-vampire template technically lets you qualify for mindbender. |
| Lo77o09-03-05, 06:48 PM | I was thinking about going Telepath 10, but get a whole bunch of "rogue" items, and try and pass myself off as a rogue... "No sir, let me se if i can find any traps... ... seems clear to me sir. *Zap, Save failed, falls prone "Ohhh sir, dident se that one, sorry about that master dwarf... But as i can se, most builds will be ok, what i realy need help with is getting my head around the small tricks i need to use... |
