| Iguanus08-13-06, 08:15 PM | Well, since most of the custom epic spells i saw here use lots of followers and stuff, i decided to do something that relys on great number of people casting also! Epic effects, pre-epic customers ^^ First: walk into some prestative arcane organization. Arcane Order seems to be just perfect. Yeap, because they must have that Cooperative Casting thing. Them talk to them and contract a lot of spell services. As this simulates a epic spell creation, you'll probably need a lot of gold. But it's for a good purpose, in the end. Take a big Adamantine Sphere and shape it into something cool. A greek throwing disk seems enough for me. Now get big! Really big! The bigger your area, the better you'll get. Have three incantatrix with you. Start Levitating. If you're colossal and more or less cubic, you should have 6 squares on each side of you. Now cast minute form and have the incantrixs to Chain, Repeat and Twin it. Then to Chain, Repeat and Twin it until all of the Arcane Order Helpers get diminutive. After it's all done, writte a synbol on your adamtine disk. I suggest a symbol of Persuasion. Get every helper to cast it along with you. Since you have 240 squares adjacent to you, you can use 3,840 helpers. Each of them will boost your spell DC by 2 and the CL by 1. That means... Symbol of Persuasion: DC = 7,700 = 10 + 6 (could be heighten to 9 by cooperative metamagic) + 4 (assuming int = 18) + 7,680 CL = 3,851 = 11 (assuming minimun level for casting) + 3,840 = 3,851 Everyone will like you. But it's not over yet... Now talk to the incantrixs and ask then to repeat, tween, widden it. Scary 3 checks ^^ On top of that, cast all mighty Permanency. Now things are hurting (or not). Everybody yet together, cast Hardening. That has to be the hardest thing ever seen! The hardness allows it to survive most of the COboards builds hit! (just kidding ;) ). Now you may also turn the disk into a +1 returning weapon. Even better if you do the same with a symbol of Weakness. And potencialyzed, maximized =D. 54 + 18d6 damage on STR. Insane! Banzai! |
| psly4mne08-13-06, 08:28 PM | I just have one question - what do you mean by "potencialyzed"? |
| Iguanus08-14-06, 07:33 PM | Sorry... I was just lost in tranlsation =P Potencialyzed means Empowered |
| PhaedrusXY08-14-06, 08:05 PM | Make it shaped like a giant statue, instead of a disk. Then cast Animate Object on it, and make that Permanent. :D Also, there is no reason not to put more than one Symbol on it, is there? |
| Purple Yin08-14-06, 08:58 PM | ritual casting? i think there's something on it in UA and in non-WotC books, like 'rituals and magic'. It's like epic, but for cabals of low lvl wizards. |
| psly4mne08-15-06, 11:00 AM | There is no limit to the number of small characters with the Swarm Fighting feat that can fit in a 5' square. Just saying. |
| Iguanus08-15-06, 11:29 AM | Really liked the Adamantine Colossus walking through land and sea. Reminds me of Orion's tale ^^ And what's swarm fighting? |
| psly4mne08-15-06, 11:53 AM | Swarm Fighting is a feat from Complete Warrior. Among other benefits, it allows any number of small characters (all of whom must have the feat) to occupy the same square. Your numbers had been limited by the number of caster you could have adjacent. If all the casters have Swarm Fighting, any number of casters can be in a single square, and thus the limitation goes away. |
| ronyon08-15-06, 04:32 PM | Hmm. I have been wanting to clone myself, using Shades and a type changing spell like Feindform. Now that I have reason to do it, let me explain how... To do this trick, one needs a caster that is not dependant on a book or item, the Cooperative Spell feat, Mother Cyst feat, and access to the Shades,Feindform, and Binding spells. Shades "functions like shadow conjuration, except that it mimics sorcerer and wizard conjuration spells of 8th level or lower." This is in contrast to Greater Shadow Conjuration, which "functions like shadow conjuration, except that it can duplicate any sorcerer or wizard conjuration (summoning) or conjuration (creation) spell of 6th level or lower." Note the differences, highlighted in red. This is more than enough evidence for me to conclude that I can use Shades to mimic Greater Planar Binding. Thus, I'd cast Feindform on myself, changing my type to Evil(?) Outsider, and then cast the Shades mimic of Greater Planar Binding. On myself. The resulting double of me will be called into being in the middle of a circle magical traps, and thus suffer the effects of a Necrotic Cyst and a Necrotic Tumor. Now existing only as a ShadowCloneThrall, this new caster would be most usefull to me if he could be kept close at hand. Enter Binding. The minimus containment version of binding does nothing to affect your spellcasting power. If the "Jar" is carefully constructed, it can offer cover, concealmenmt, immortalty and sustinance. It might also have fine libraries, luscious wenches, work shops, laboratories, forges, treasure rooms, etc. Cargo might need special Shrink Object handling, but much of what is need inside the Jar might be made using Fabricate, and a bit of the correct matirial. When the "Jar" is done, capture each on your minion/selves inside, using the minimus containment version of Binding. When you need them, use Necrotic Tumor and order for them to lean out through thier murder holes and give your foes what for... |

That means you could also use it to cast Heal, right? (No, you wouldn't want to.) |
