| Dracophile10-20-04, 04:33 AM | I have access to PHB, DMG, and PGtF (but no other Realms books). 32-Point buy. 1st-level feat must be a regional feat. How should I build my Druid? I'm thinkin' Dreadful Wrath (level 1), Spell Focus: Conjuration (human), Augment Summoning (level 3), Natural Spell (level 6). But past this, I'm stumped. Tanx :) |
| LordKiwi10-20-04, 05:00 AM | Would you prefer a Melee or Caster type druid? Melee: Wildshape, Nature's Warrior and Warshaper. The Druidic Avenger from UA is also good for this if you don't want to have an animal companion. Caster: Probably go for a summoner, look in Frostburn for lots of summoning goodies. Lord Kiwi, |
| Aramil Liadon10-20-04, 05:59 AM | I wouldn't go the Wildshape, Nature's Warrior and Warshaper route. Just Wils Shape into something like an legendary ape and cast spikes and other stuff, that's melee enough ;) Aramil |
| catharz10-20-04, 06:03 AM | Um... I don't think he can use Frostburn, Monster manual II, Complete divine, or Complete warrior. Can you use spells listed as unchanged in PgtF? |
| Dracophile10-20-04, 06:18 AM | Catharz, Possibly, but its on a case-by-case basis, and my DM doesn't have access to all the books. So, short answer, probably not. |
| Jandar the Druid10-22-04, 06:38 AM | Make sure you can take the Initiate of Natur feat. It gives som unique spells, like Briartangle, Thorn Spray and Tree Healing. Don't remember the requirements. And get your party to sponsor a wild enchantment on your armor a.s.a.p. (+3bonus, so it may be too expensive) |
| MoonWizard10-22-04, 11:50 AM | Are you thinking Melee Druid? I like Drd 5 / 1 Mnk / Drd 14 The one level in monk is very good from a min/maxing point of view: It gives a +2 to all saves, Imp. Grapple feat (good for Bear form), Flurry of Blows (great for Bear form with claw/claw/bite/claw), and add WIS to AC (all Drd have high WIS). PrCs slow Wildshape progression. This isn't good. You want the most powerful animal form at the lowest level possible. I'm a fan of the Bear route. Black--Adv Black--Brown--Polar--Adv Polar--Dire--Dire Polar Bear progression. I like your feat choices. I'd add Extend Spell and Empower Spell. There's a bunch of spells that would benefit from these metamagicks. Spells choices from PhB: Produce Flame Bear for fire damage (+8.5 dam at 5th per claw attack) in Bear form. Extend it and Empower it at higher levels. Use FoB Barkskin stacks in Wildshape Longstrider has a nice duration Summon Nature's Ally is a good if you choose go the Augment Summoning way. Just look as the animal as an extension of your melee damage/hps Shillelagh is great on a Large Club (-2 to hit because it's so big) because it'll do 3d8 base damage with this 1st lvl spell. |
