| Fiendish Dire Weasel11-07-03, 09:18 PM | I like divine spell casting but hate memorizing spells so I love the Favored Soul (Mystic too, but is considered campaign-specific by some). I'd like to work out a solid melee build that focuses on melee combat but with the divine spellcasting for some extra buffs, healing and role playing. I have several versions I could use just using base class multiclassing but I was looking around for a good PrC to maybe use to get more out of the build and found somthing interesting: Favored Soul's lack Channeling (turning) and Knowledge: Religion as a class skill, this denies them access to most divine PrCs (assuming you don't get these abilities elsewhere). I thought this was an interesting "challenge" so I figured I'd look for some input here. Is there prestige class (or classes) that gives +1 divine caster level (remember, want to keep the spontaneous casting) either every level or every other level, doesn't require the ability to channel positive or negative energy, doesn't require more than a few (2 or 3) ranks in Knowledge: Religion and still maintains reasonable melee abilities. I'm thinking the answer is "No, just multiclass and/or use non-spellcasting PrCs" but I figured I'd ask here. There is probably an obvious PrC I'm not thinking of or maybe there is an obscure one in a book or Dragon mag I don't have. Definatly would preffer PrC's from Wizards (books or Dragon) if possible. -FDW |

| Fiendish Dire Weasel11-07-03, 09:40 PM | Windwalker is a great PrC, but unfortunatley it requires access to the Air or Travel Domains :( Guess I forgot to mention that. Favored Souls have no Domains so the PrC can't require Domain access. |

Correct your language: Favored Soul is non-core also. Core is the stuff in a book with "Core Rulebook." Also, the Mystic IS official D&D material, look at the Dragonlance Campaign Setting, it has Wizards of the Coast on it and the D&D logo. |
| Fiendish Dire Weasel11-07-03, 10:22 PM | My bad, was using "core" with a different meaning but should have caught that. Either way, the paramaters only apply to Favored Soul, Mystics are able to get around all of the mentioned restrictions. |

Only clerics need to have the Air or Travel domain. Other divine casters are exempt from this requirement. Cheers Otto :) |
