I was just wondering if there are any alternate ways to geting the Turn/Rebuke Undead ability, variant rules or such? I need the one level dip into cleric for another class and it would work perfectly if there was just another way. Any ways possible would be good. Thanks.

You mean without taking actual class levels that grant Turn/Rebuke Undead? The only way I know is to be an Illithid Savant and eat a cleric's brain. I think the trick used by Pun-Pun the kobold would work for this, also. (See "The Most Powerful Character... EVAR" thread)

Edit; Doesn't an Ur-Priest have an ability called Steal Supernatural Ability, or something? They could steal another cleric's turning ability with that, I think, since Turn Undead is a supernatural ability. I'm not sure how the details of that work, though, so you'd have to read up on it yourself.

...of course, since the Ur-Priest doesn't get that ability until level 10, and gets Rebuke Undead at level 2 (which fuels just about all the same things Turn Undead fuels,) it might sort of defeat the purpose to take all ten levels in order to get turning.

Whats the earliest you can get turn undead without cleric? I looked at sacred exorcist and you need i think a 6th level spell to qualify so that isn't early. :banghead:

If you can use the Complete Divine book and are willing to wait until 9th level, then Sacred Exorcist is your best bet.

You will need to put a bunch of points in a couple of possibly sub-optimal skills (K: Planes and K: religion). Also you will need to get the 5th-level Wiz spell "Dismissal" ASAP.

You will also have to make sure that you play your character a certain way, based on what your GM requires of you to get into the organization, etc. Shouldn't be too hard, but is a factor, nonetheless.

The good news is, though, that you get LOTS of cool goodies for the above. It is a really good PrC for wizards.
