The Odd One

The Eberron Campaign Setting has offered up a few new feats, three of which allow non-standard weapons for flurry, the longsword, longspear, and two-bladed sword. Now, in order to be legal to use them, you must take the appropriate proficiency feat as well as Weapon focus. So, the question is, is it worth it to go through the trouble? Even as a human, the minimum level you can obtain either is by 3rd level, going Fighter 2/Monk 1 or simply Monk 3. If you know of a faster way, please let me know. But back to the core question; are they even worth it?

Nope.
Those same feats can be spent on Improved Natural Attack and something else of your choice, almost certainly doing more dmg than a weapon - especially when you take into account the scalable nature of the unarmed strike, as well.

There's really no need to take those feats to flurry with a specific weapon. If you really want to flurry with weapons, you can go with Shou Disciple from Unapproachable East to flurry with all Martial weapons. Just be sure to get 11 effective Monk levels to get maximum flurry.

maybe you can make a take a lvl1 dip into cleric with war domain, i am not sure if that can get you both a proficiency and focus with that. Or maybe make an elf, dont they get longsword profieciency

or maybe you can use the oriential adventures rule of subsituting any feat for another, if you dont plan to fight unarmed, maybe you can exchange improved unarmed strike with weapon prof...

not sure if you can do that though...

but a cleric with war and strength domain (for scrolls of enlarge person) would work really well.
