Hi! It's been a long time since I posted here, I hope I'm asking this question at the right spot! :)

Is there any feat that allows a character to add his Intelligence modifier to his attack roll?

I know some weapons have special abilities that allow this. (ie. Gnome steam bow) But is there a feat for it? And if there is. . . where? lol.

Thanks!

I don't think we want level 20 Wizards walking around being just as effective as fighters but with lvl 9 spells... So the answer is no where.

oh right, because the difference between +10 BAB and +20 BAB is nothing

ever heard of iterative attacks? a level 20 wizard could never be as effective as a fighter with level 9 spells because a fighter has 4 attacks, 3 of which are at the same and better bonuses.

Also, don't forget that adding int to attack won't necessarily add int to damage.

oh and don't forget about arcane spell failure, a fighter 20 can wear heavy armor and a shield while a wizard is limited to at best light armor and a buckler (with special materials).

Not exactly what you're looking for, but Master of the Unseen Hand lets you add your Int modifier to your BAB when using telekinesis if you're a wizard.

Thanks for the replies all! :)

Actually, I was just playing around with a swashbuckler character and I had a few feat slots left open. . . I just thought: "Hey, I wonder if. . ."

But if no such feat exists I wont be completely surprised. . . I mean, I've searched through a number of sources and I haven't found it yet!

Thanks again for the replies!

There is such a feat.

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/ei/ei20030215a

Combat Insight

Your keen intellect allows you to place melee attacks where they will inflict the most damage.

Prerequisites: Int 19, Epic Prowess, Expertise, base attack bonus +15.

Benefit: When wielding a melee weapon, add your Intelligence modifier rather than your Strength modifier to the weapon's damage rolls.

And it is instead of Str, so it is worse than the Swashbuckler ability.

as you can see there are some epic feats that are less powerful then three levels in a base-class.
i wonder what game we would play when the designers of the different books would work together.

BAB - Eldritch Knight
Damage - Insightful Strike or 3 levels of Swashbuckler
Wizard won't need armor since people seem to play one just fine without.

A wizard in melee with no armor is a big target for max power attack. +20 (at least) on top of all the other damage he's taking will make that d4 seem a lot small, really fast.

Okay then still spell and now you can wear armor and cast level 8 spells.

Since when was armor ever important? I very rarely see a high-AC build on these forums that wears anything heavier than light armor (or in many cases, BRACERS!)

Heck, I rarely see a good build of any type on these forums that relies on heavy armor, unless its a cleric or dwarf of some type. :D

Err, Clerics can already do this. While I'm not sure if there's a WIS to dmg feat, I think there is one to hit. If not, take the Shiba Defender. Or cast any of the multitude of buffs clerics cast.

While in Full Plate.

There is a wis to hit but not one to damage. Have you noticed the trend? Dex to hit Wis to hit Int to damage... It's to one not the other unless it's str. Imagine a rogue with dex to damage...
