An unknown build... How can I throw rocks the size of pluto? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-19-06, 01:20 PM I remember seeing a build on this board that let you throw bolders the size of pluto. I have absolutly no idea how this is accomplished, except that it uses the hulking hurler PrC. Would someone mind telling me the exact build for this? I'm competing in a friendly tourniment and I want something rediculously powerful. :devil:

That said, the Hurler, like Pun-Pun, was never meant to be used in game. Please reconsider, for the sake of the fun of other players.

As for the fun of other players, this is basicly a "how twinked out can you make your character?" constest. Only thing not allowed is pun-pun. One of my friends says he has a build that lets him shoot all 50 charges from a wand at once, so he can do 500d6 in a single round with a 10th level wand of fireball.

08-19-06, 03:24 PM The hurler's available in the Optimization Challenge forum (forum ID 330). Just look for "hulking hurler build".

The idea is, carrying capacity scales exponentially with strength -- but thanks to the Improvised Weapons rules in CW, damage scales linearly with weight. The hurler simply lets you throw your carrying capacity as a weapon. From there, it's a bunch of tweaks -- things like maxing strength, becoming quadrupedal and significantly larger (adds multipliers and higher seed values to carrying capacity), the Natural Heavyweight feat (double your carrying capacity), making the object sharp or pointy (treat it as if it were double its weight when dealing damage), and application of Shrink Item (if you can get the shrunken object to make up your carrying capacity, then it expands to 4000 times the mass (which is what determines weight, assuming gravity is constant) when you throw it). That's a lot of multipliers on an already high value.

Sadly, it's extremely one-sided. And one dominate later, you're dropping that beast on your toe. Despite being the first non-caster to break a million damage (and the only one other than Pun-Pun to break a few quadrillion), it's a glass cannon.
