"Access to a domain" - what does this _actually_ mean? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm hoping to create a build that blends dread necromancer, Ur priest and true necromancer; the issues that's been thrown up by this is the TN's requisite for

"Access to the death domain"

What exactly does this mean?

Do I qualify if I can cast all spells from the domain (i.e. arcane disciple)
Must I actually have the domain (i.e. cleric?)
If I am an Ur priest and grab contemplative+dath domain do I have access then?

Is there an actual ruling on this anywhere?

DN 8/UP 2/TN10 would be decent if arcane disciple was allowable, with
DN8/UP2/Contemplative 1/TN 10 otherwise if the actual domain is required.

If anyone could point me towards some sore of resource on this, I'd be very grateful.

must have the domain.

Effectively, you can't go TN without cleric levels.

Unless it says that you merely have to be able to cast spells from the domain (which TN does not) then yes, you need the actual domain from Cleric/Contemplative levels.

So effectively you wouldn't be able to progress in TN levels until after 11th level, which is not too hot for that class at all.
