My DM is going to be starting a campaign where the majority of the action will be taking place underground, but also some above ground in a diplomatic setting. Personally, I thought this would lend well to the idea of a cleric/elemental savant build with an earth speciality. Unfortunately, every build I come up with is rather crappy. Would anyone out there be willing to give me a hand with this? It is a 28 point buy and only allows the Core and Complete books. Gods are not really set in stone yet, so domain choices are free to pick. Here is my idea so far (note: bear with me, I said it was crappy)

Domains: Earth, War, + Time (from Contemplative)

Race: Dwarf
Cleric6/Elemental Savant10/Contemplative1/Thaumaturgist4

Starting stats:

STR: 10
DEX: 10
CON: 12 (10+2)
INT: 14
WIS: 14
CHA: 14 (16-2)

Thoughts? Comments? Belittlements? Inane Rants?

Do you guys consider the the "Races of" books to be part of Core or Complete? If so, IMHO the Earth Dreamer PrC from RoS is awesome. It has no racial requirement and Earth Sight/ Earth Glide abilities are extremely potent.

Have you thought about possibly taking some levels in Stonelord as opposed to Thaumaturgist for personal Earth powers. It will not give you the spell progression that your current build has though. Is that a requirement - as close to full spell progression as possible?
