What LA beyond having to wait until you can use a Polymorph Any Object scroll? :) You're not actually becoming the creature, it's just a permanent (as opposed to instantaneous?) polymorph with all the usual restrictions. Well, all the usual restrictions plus adopting the creature's Intelligence.
