So I was reading D&Dorks when I came to this strip (http://www.dndorks.com/comiccomments.aspx?comicdate=12%2f17%2f2 003).

So there is one question before you actually select feats: Would you use Fling Ally or Fling Enemy?

Fling Ally requires you to beat your foes Grapple or Escape Artist Check by 5 for every 10 feet you want to throw them.

Let's use Fling Enemy because it is funnier that way.

Using Half-Ogre for the race because of its strength bonus. Sure it is a +2 LA--see Races of Destiny--but it is worth it.

28 Pt: Str 24, Dex 12, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 8, Cha 6
32 Pt: Str 24, Dex 14, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 10, Cha 6
1 Mnk 1: Bonus Feat (Improved Grapple), Rock Hurling, 1d8 Unarmed Damage
2 Mnk 2: Evasion, Bonus Feat (Combat Reflexes)
3 Mnk 2/Bbn 1: Rage 1/day, Fling Enemy
4 Mnk 2/Bbn 1/Ftr 1: Bonus Feat (Brutal Throw)
5 Mnk 2/Bbn 1/Ftr 2: Point Blank Shot
6 Mnk 2/Bbn 2/Ftr 2: Improved Rock Hurling

Now let's try using Fling Ally.

Half-Ogre
28 Pt: Str 24, Dex 12, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 8, Cha 6
32 Pt: Str 24, Dex 14, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 10, Cha 6
1 Ftr 1: Rock Hurling, Bonus Feat (Point Blank Shot)
2 Ftr 2: Bonus Feat (Precise Shot)
3 Ftr 2/Bbn 1: Rage 1/day, Fling Ally
4 Ftr 3/Bbn 1:
5 Ftr 4/Bbn 1: Weapon Focus (Halflings)
6 Ftr 4/Bbn 1/MTh 1: Bonus Feat (Quick Draw), Brutal Throw, Thrown Weapon Trick (Two with One Blow)

So does this mean you can use Quick Draw to draw two Halflings to throw two in a round? Or that you throw one halfling and it bounces off the first target into the second?

But now that you have a Halfling Thrower, you need a Halfling Projectile! But I am tired. So maybe tomorrow. Or if you have an idea, share it.

Dwarves can be jealous of halflings now...

a venerable halfling in full plate with a cursed belt of wussy strenght (-2 str), gaunlet of clumsyness (-2 dex) and a periapt of sickly old man (-2 con) equipped. what better projectile, then one that cannot fight back...

venerable halfling (28 pt buy) projectile... er combat aid :D
str 0 (0pts, -6 age, -2 cursed belt)
dex 0 (0pts, -6 age, -2 cursed gauntlet)
con 1 (1pts, -6 age, -2 cursed periapt)
int 12 (1 pts, +3 age)
wis 19 (10 pts, +3 age)
cha 21 (16pts, +3 age)

ta-daaaa!

as an added bonus, they make a nice, satisfying "crunch" sound when they hit terminal velocity. gotta love those old, brittle, glass-like bones.

Another fun thing to do if you're more of the Necromantic bent is to use undead Halflings, who have had Unliving Weapon (from BoVD) cast on them...I like to call them Halfling Grenades.

This build begs for the leadership feat, followed by extra followers from heroes of battle. Halflings galore!!!

I think I have to contact the LPA (http://www.lpaonline.org/) on this one (http://www.minbu.connectfree.co.uk/dwarf.htm)...

I honestly can't stop laughing.

Think about the contests the kingdoms could have in the noble sport of halfling-chucking.

I personally prefer gnomes to throw around.

I actually tried to do this once. An Ogre with leadership attracted a bunch of Gnomes.... but the DM said I couldn't for no reason other than him not liking the idea. Alas.

Dude... Give one of the Ogres a bat (Greatclub). We can create a new sport called Kobold Kricket, although it would be more modeled after Baseball. =P

EDIT: Oh, this idea is SO going into the BBEG thread.

Leadership? No, no, no. Have a thrallherd in the party, and wander through halfling lands. Then, no matter how much ammunition you use, more will show up in a day or so without all that pesky "You killed all your other followers!" stigma bringing down enrollment.

Better to use Goblins, so as not to make Pun-Pun angry.

If Pun-Pun gets angry then I'll create a level 5 wizard and send him back in time... besides Goblins can't do alliteration... What would it be? Goblin Golf? That just doesn't seem right... too passive.

No you won't, because he'll just kill it as a free action.

Then he must be alright with it because I'm still alive... maybe he wants us to forget his heritage.

I always pictured him as a short little scaly guy with an inferiority complex the size of the Sword Coast.

Be sure to have every one carrying an alchemist fire or 20 as well. I'm pretty sure the impact would break them. Maybe a few acid flasks. Sure the DCs are low, but eventually someone's gonna nat-1 a reflex save and take some damage.

Have the halfling wear spiked armour, for preference mithril breastplate or some such.

Assuming that a halfling does 1d6 damage.

Wearing the spiked armour would mean that a successful hit with the halfling will deal an extra 1d4 damage.

This means that the halfling deals 1d4 + 1d6 + 8 damage.

Give the halfling the feats Battle Jump, Leap Attack and Power Attack along with a two-handed weapon, such as a halberd, possibly with the enchantment Valorous.

Our halfling is now something along the lines of:

1. Scout [Battle Jump] Skirmish 1d6
2. Fighter *Power Attack
3. Scout [Ariel Superiority]
4. Scout
5. Fighter *Leap Attack

The halfling readies his action to attack after he's thrown.

Now the halfling is dealing

1d6+1d4+3(1d6+Str)+(2*Powerattack)(5)+1d 6.

Assuming a Str of 13, With a power attack of 1, This gives us an average damage of 42 from our thrown halfling.
