So it occured to me the other day that I hadn't seen any Forsaker builds in a while. I thought to myself, "That's mighty strange! That was a pretty darn good class!" And I got to wondering what one could use.

Well, here are some things that have come out since then.

--Swordsages

--The Drow and Elf domains

--Occult Slayers

--Mageslayer

But most importantly...

VOW OF POVERTY.

Check it out.

Human Swordsage 2/Cleric 1/Forsaker 10/Occult Slayer 5/Paladin 2. Paladin optional.

01: Sacred Vow, VoP
03: Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes (Drow), Great Fortitude (Dwarf)

Etcetra.

WIS and CON to AC in light armor, DR, SR, some spell turning, bonii up the wazoo, and stats most people only dream of. Three iteratives, too.

Not quite sure how you're going to convince the Powers That Be that you can represent both Dwarves and Drow at the same time.

Also, most of the VoP benefits are supernatural. Most DMs would say that counts as "magic", and hence violates your Forsaker oath. I know, per the strict RAW it is legal, and some might allow it. But it bears being mentioned. And... you're still probably going to get smoked by spellcasters. :P

Perhaps you should forgo Human and try for Hidecraved Dragon, or whatever it was?

you're also going to be smoked by anything that flies-ever.

What are you going to do, throw rocks? You're not allowed a bow or even a sling with Vow of Poverty iirc. And you can't fly...

Yea, VoP+Forsaker isn't all that impressive except at low levels. Even then it's meh. Remember: you cannot break magic items for your DR from Forsaker since you have to donate them all from VoP. Magic is evil! So give it to the orphans!

Magic is evil! So give it to the orphans! This is just an awesome quote...

Remember: you cannot break magic items for your DR from Forsaker since you have to donate them all from VoP. It still baffles me that no one ever puts 2 and 2 together... Forsaker + Improved Sunder = DR for you, and less equipment the badguys are using to hurt the party.

Of course, you still have the problem of you breaking the party's (potential) treasure.

Warblade + Forsaker wouldn't be bad...not at ALL. It's not magic, it's just the only decent substitute. As far as I can tell, Warblade is the only one without access to supernatural-ability maneuvers, so it's the most efficient for our purposes.

Get some Deepwarden love for CON to AC twice and Survivor for stackable DR 5/-- .

You have no idea how good that is to a Forsaker build. I played a Forsaker once with 5 levels of Survivor...nothing could kill me with magic and nothing tried with combat.

With two flaws you can enter the class at 2nd level. I usually began with a level in Monk (for the Wisdom to AC...then I found out armor was WAY better for this type of character). Warblade seems to be a very solid choice.

Warblade 1/Forsaker 10/Survivor 5/Occult Slayer 4

or

Karsite Hexblade 3/Forsaker 10/Survivor 5/Fighter 2 (with LA buyoff)

Karsite adds another dimension to this build. You get hit by a spell and absorb its' energy. Survivor is a steep hit to your BAB but, you're still a champ IMO. Take Mage Slayer feat tree and you're gravy.
