deafbymetal 11-26-06, 02:58 PM	Greetings optimizers. I'm an infrequent visitor to these pages, and when making characters tend to go with personality over power. However, soon my gaming group will begin a new chapter in our characters lives. Currently, with just me and one other player, we are approaching epic levels of play. Our characters, one being a TWF human blender and mine being a dwarven Ftr/Clr/Runecaster, will be semi-retired. What our group plans to do, which I think is interesting, is to play two of our followers. That is, each main character has the Leadership feat. They will semi-retire to administrative work in a city they will be in control of. I will play one of the followers of my friends character and vice-versa. What I would like to do is play this character as effectively as possible (as far as dealing/taking damage)! What I am looking for is a ToB build that is simple, straightforward (RAW), either core race or at most LA +1 (I was thinking of a Goliath, for the boost to strength and the jumping bonuses, not to mention large weapons), sword and board, and effective for 20 lvls of play. As he will be the follower of an existing character that is a paladin, he's somewhat limited in alignment. Also, my buddy hates bards, so anything bard-like is out of the question. I would need to back up any questionable actions with RAW data for the DM, and I want to limit myself to at most 2-3 classes so as not to look like I'm optimizing. I have access to most official WoTC books. We will most likely start at lvl 3-4, not sure how we'll get sats (most likely 4d6 drop lowest) though I'd prefer point buy (32). Also, any specific items that boost whatever can't be depended on, as the DM is a little weird in giving out items (he rolls for random treasure). I'm looking for a character that can wade into his enemies and leave a pile of body parts behind, while everyone else tries to figure out what the hell just happened. Any builds I can be directed to, or put into this thread, would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
Hanniball 11-26-06, 03:51 PM	Although I'm not personally familiar with all this Book of Nine Swords mumbo-jumbo, this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=680285) thread seems like an excellent resource for any optimizer using ToB.
