The most obvious way of doing this is to make the character a Warforged, but what other ways are there of gaining the Construct creature type? For example, assume someone wants to make an Illumian Master Transmogrifist/ Sacred Exorcist to use Naenhoon: Persistent with Draconic Polymorph (assuming it works as Polymorph for the MT abilities). How would he gain the Construct creature type? Also, is there any way besides using Maenad or the Phrenic template to qualify for Metamorphic Transfer with this type of character, since it works with Polymorph? I'm hoping for some setting-neutral options for this, otherwise I'd just make a Phrenic Warforged Wizard 5/ Incantatrix 3/ Master Transmogrifist 10 and accomplish everything with ease. |

| Khadrias01-03-06, 04:03 PM | By setting neutral do you mean setting neutral of setting Greyhawk? Because the creature itself "Blood Golem of Hextor" isn't setting neutral. Some possibilities for non-warforged constructs may be avilable, but I've yet to find one. If they do exist, most likely it'll be in one of the big Monster list books. check out MM, MMII, MMIII, Miniature Handbook, Planar Handbook, Fiend Folio. Things like this usually carry a few constructs, maybe even playable ones. Personally, I'm a fan of the Fiend Folio's Maug, but it's like 2 HD and +3 LA. Setting neutral is going to be hard to find though. I once made a Psiforged (Magic of Eberron) Psion that used Metamorphosis to become a retriever. It worked out rather well, except for missing the first round of combat every time to "activate genocide mode". Excepting for this "Blood Golem of Hextor", and maybe a few key others, I would say Outsider Polymorph would be the best (Jarilith), and it's a lot easier to find setting neutral Outsiders at +0 LA. But good luck on finding the right bot for the job. |
