Here's a build I've tried to push a couple of times for a Psion using an Item of Legacy to its fullest effect. Practiced Manifester removes the last drawbacks for taking one. It's not a "broken" combo...more of a noticable and welcome power augment.

Green Lantern:

Build: Psion 20
Feat Reqs: Practiced Mainifester. Other good choices are Psi-Crystal Affinity/Psi-Crystal Containment and Psychic Meditation.

"Power Ring": (Base Ring of Counterspells)

5 [Free Slot]
6 [Free Slot]
7 Lesser Extend Power, 3/day
8 [Free Slot]
9 [Free Slot]
10 [Free Slot]
11 Lesser Empower, 3/day
12 Extend, 3/day
13 [Free Slot]
15 Lesser Maximize, 3/day
16 [Free Slot]
17 Empower, 3/day
18 Lesser Quicken, 3/day
20 Maximize, 3/day

Why is this a good combo?

The cost for a 15 level Psionic Item of Legacy is -2 ML Penalty (does NOT affect PP or Powers Known, just ML checks and augment cap), 18 PP, 56,000 GP and 3,300 XP.

-Practiced Manifester offsets the ML penalty.
-The 21 uses each day of FREE Meta-Psionic augmentation, which do NOT count towards your ML Cap for manifesting or augmenting a power (WoL, pg. 185 or so), equal 66 free power points, for a net gain of 48 PP, roughtly 10%-15% of a Psion 20's total.
-The GP and XP penalties are offset by the items you don't have to buy and the feats you don't have to take (at the very least, you get Extend, Empower and Maximize for free).
