My characters role in the party is going to be "guy who keeps bad things away from the damage dealers", which I am happy with. To accomplish this, I've chosen a dex based fighter to go for high AC using the following build: Aristocrat 2 / Ranger (Urban) 2 / Fighter 2 I chose aristocrat for a variety of story reasons, and the fact that the DM allows aristocrats to apply charisma to will saves and the Easy Allies class skill. While the majority of the remaining levels for this character will be fighter, I would like to take two levels in [something else] to help him fulfill his role a little bit better; block for the good guys while taking as little damage as possible, yet doing enough to remain a target. I don't need to be (and realistically won't be) the damage dealer of the party. Given the travelling we do, he does have some mounted combat feats as his main offensive punch. I'd appreciate people's thoughts on what two class levels to take around 8th and 9th level. The character is your classic thick headed, good hearted, and very impulsive noble type (picture Blackadder's lieutenant from Blackadder Goes Forth). Ideally feats / classes / things that let him capitalize on his higher dex or charisma would be greatly appreciated. Stats: Str 13 Dex 18 Con 13 Int 9 Wis 7 Cha 15 Class Abilities: Charisma for Will Saves, Easy Allies, Fav. Enemy (Undead), Wild Empathy, Urban Track Feats: Weapon Finesse, Mounted Combat, Ride-by-Attack, Power Attack, Spirited Charge, Leadership I have considered levels of sorcerer, rogue (for evasion), and cleric (no spell casting, I know, but the divine shield/might/vigor feats look neat and Ellena in IK gives clerics evasion). More obscure sources for materials are likely not acceptable, but I am willing to entertain the ideas. Thanks eveyone in advance for thoughts on how to make this character a bit more effective. |
