FRCS is kosher, I just have to steal the books.(must get my dirty mitts on MoF) Now, on to the tougher part of this. My GM is having us fight extremely difficult monsters, and my current character is just not cutting the mustard(+16/+11 AB, 1 off full cleric casting. AC 25 when buffed.) We are level 11-12, so if I make a new character he'll be level 11. 36 point buy, standard starting money. I need to be better. Let me put it this way, I and another Cleric blew like 7 Revivifies in ONE fight.(not to mention several cure critical/serious, heals, etc.). Lucky for us the times 2 died in the same round, none of the deaders were us. One of the ways I've thought of being better was to try something along the lines of Monk 1/Cleric 8/Deepwarden 2 to get some of that AC I so desperately need, along with easing my attribute selection slightly(Con/Wis would be king). I was going to use the standard Divine Metamagic(Persistent) trick to boost his combat abilities, and focus on +Wis/+Con and some deflection AC. With a Wis of 26 I'd have an AB of 19/14/9 without counting the bonus. With a Con of 20+ and some quality gear, I should be able to break 30 AC. This build is highly feat crunched, obviously. I would ideally like to retain more healing ability than I have(and more AC), or this build would give. Anything that allowed me more battlefield control would be good, too. Preventing damage is better than healing it, after all. :D I'm just kind of lost on this whole thing. It is extremely frustrating to not succeed in combat, despite a pretty respectable AB. And I find that for healing, I am redundant after the fight, and during it, I have to struggle _VERY_ hard to keep us alive. My team's (rough)build follows, so you know the enviroment I'm working with. Cleric/Stormlord*2, Barb/Fight/EWM(best in the bunch), Transmuter/Master Transmogrifist, Ranger/OrderotBInit, Ninja/Shadowdancer(dip for flavor), Rogue/Sorc/Arcane Trickster. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!(Note: I went looking for something close to what I need and couldn't find it in the archer-cleric threads.) |

Animated Large Shield, Death Ward Mithril Breastplate (or Full Plate), Sonic Composite Longbow with appropriate Strength bonus (Think +6 should do the trick). Persistent Metamagic, Greater Magic Wepaon and Magic Vestment spells... Wis to AC from the Monk ability is highly overrated for clerics. Armor and Shield just works so much better without the fuss of loosing a level or item slot. |
| ashideena12-09-05, 12:14 AM | That's why I was seeing if there was a way to get two stats to AC. Also, I need to have this 30-35 AC at 11th. Money pool is a bit limited, which is why I was reaching for this. Also, this would put my touch AC higher. High enough to be a challenge for the vicious casters my GM likes throwing at us. |
