| eqpablon02-01-07, 12:47 AM | Firstly I would like to thank Caelic for his Pure Fighter TWF build he posted recently. I wanted to PM him on some options for my fighter but his PM box is full. Instead of just PM'ing it I will post my idea here for everyone to rip apart, enjoy! Background: I play Living Greyhawk. The LG Campaign has a 28 point buy system, and a level 15 cap (characters retire at 16). In LG I can't use Psionic anything (classes, feats, PrC's, etc), so my build doesn't make use of Psionic options. Additionally in LG you don't get the option to use the ever popular Half Ogre, Half Dragon, Gnoll, etc templates/races. I was orginally only going to take 4 levels of fighter mixed with 4 levels of Ranger to work my way towards a Wild Runner. After reading Caelics post I am going to try to do the unthinkable and go pure TWF Fighter in LG. My current Character: Wood Elf Fighter 2 Str- 16 Dex- 18 Con- 12 Int - 10 Wis- 10 Cha -08 Feats (current): 1- Weapon Focus: Short Sword, Two Weapon Fighting 2- Combat Reflexes Feats (planned) 3- Buckler Defense 4- Weapon Spec Short Sword, +1 Dex bump 5- 6- Improved TWF, Two Weapon AoO (from DR 340) 7- 8- Melee Weapon Mastery, +1 Dex Bump 9- Improved Combat Reflexes (from DR 340) 10- Close Quarters Fighting 11- 12- Robilars Gambit, Greater Two Weapon Fighting, +1 Str Bump 13- 14- Two Weapon Render 15- Opportunistic Tactician (from Dr 340, can take 5' step after AoO) What I am lacking is the trip feats Caelic had; however my character is already made and leveled so I can't go back and give him 13 int to open up the expertise tree for the trip feats :( In light of that what advise would you give? Keep in mind my goal is to have an effective character at levels 12+. That may mean going back to the 4 Fighter, 4 Ranger, 7 Wildrunner build I had planned (or some other TWF PrC build), and I am open to those ideas as well. Thanks in advance :) |

Sunblades act as shortswords and any and all feats that work for shortsword work for Sunblades, but you get the 1d10 damage of a bastard sword. Otherwise it looks good to me. edit: Sunblades count as shortswords when it is beneficial so you can wield one in each hand without having to get the oversized two weapon fighting feat. Technically they can be used with Weapon Finesse too. |

| Elderich02-01-07, 01:53 PM | if you coule weild the lifestealer greataxe from the DMG, then you could steal a level per attack. |
| Caelic02-01-07, 05:46 PM | Oh, you don't have to get that expensive. According to Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, you can have a +1 bastard sword that functions as a shortsword when advantageous for only 1,500 gp. Much more affordable. |

| Grave02-01-07, 06:20 PM | Caelic: Would those bastard swords also allow you to apply such feats as, I don't know, Shadow Blade to them? 'Cuz I would just love to be able to say to the baddies, "behold the shadow hand's most lethal weapon...the sun sword!" -Grave & Co. |
