I'm starting a venerable anthropomorphic bat in my next campaign as a VoP monk1/druid5/LoT10/??? and I was just making sure that at lvl one I am using the right modifiers to stats,
Str -10
Dex -6
Con -6
Int +3
Wis +9 :D
Cha +1

PS- BTW, can a VoP's animal companion still have magical items (or any items at all)??

Thanks all!!

Im not sure about the VoP question. Id talk to your DM. The way to get the items for your companion will be to argue that if they cant have the items they should benefit from the vow aswell a) out of principle, b) because of share spell. This should more or less guarantee items for your companion becausing VoP on themwill be too sick for you DM to bare.

What up with the classes? LoT is not worth it for a druid, you lose too much. Go druid 20 or if you are really willing to sacrafice some spells and HD 20 wildshape froms (legendary bear, epic level handbook....awesome!) forsome extra AC then monk1/druid19 is acceptable.

I would say... scrap vow of poverty, and go Druid 20. If you are starting at low levels, go middle aged, not venerable -- it will help you survive low levels.

Remember, with a monk's belt and a wilding clasp, you can get wisdom to AC, even while shifted...

And Wild Shape into a Fleshraker, get a Fleshraker as your animal companion, cast Venomfire and go to town...

Get a wand of Lesser Vigor for healing... Wear Druid's Vestments...

Get some Torcs of Animal Speech for your party, so they can communicate with you while you are wildshaped!

Use your feats to get great summoning ability... :)

Thanks for the recommendations on the build but as a side note I'm willing to rethink the monk and LoT but the VoP is kinda required (a deal I worked out with my DM). Although I am a bit hesitant about the monk level I really don't see any problems with LoT. The only requirement that you might regret would be the feat and this is easily covered by the VoP. I mean even with 1 monk and the LoT, you will only be losing three levels of wild shape. I mean are the 20 HD forms really that much better then the 17 HD forms? (Any other examples?)

As another side note I think i might have disproven my own question with the animal companion. Since you get no possessions and your animal's gear must come from your own maximum gold share then by that theory I think that an animal companion wouldn't be allowed any gear.

PS- No one ever said if my math was correct.

Honestly, im not sure you need anymore examples....the legendary bear has Str 36, Dex 14, Con 24 & +10NA making it i think the best animal form.

EDIT>the dire elephant from either MM2 or fiend folio (sorry, can't remember  ) is also 20 HD.
