| K04-17-06, 02:41 PM | Does anyone know of any Dragons under HD 6? I'm looking for Dragons to Alter Self into with a Dragonblood character. Thanks. |
| jedrious04-17-06, 03:00 PM | some wyrmlings |
| nihility04-17-06, 03:51 PM | Would a pseudodragon (http://d20srd.org/srd/monsters/pseudodragon.htm) fit the bill? |
| Pinky's brain04-17-06, 04:22 PM | Dracotaur in the MM3. |
| smrtgmp04-17-06, 06:44 PM | I just compiled a list for my dragonwrought kobold sorcerer. Its not all inclusive, as the dragons left out are not present in the campaign in which I am playing The following wyrmlings: Black, Green, White, Brass, Copper, and Shadow. and the Pseudodragon. The pseudodragon has the best maneuverability with its flight, but it cant speak, making spellcasting difficult. Of the others, the shadow is the best all around combat form, as it gives you a 60ft land speed, 120(average) fly speed (note that those are the limits on movement imposed by alter self; actual shadow dragons have higher movement rates), and a +9 bonus to AC (+2 size, +7 natural). The black is good when you need to swim, as it has both a swim speed and the ability to breate underwater. The brass and white both have burrow speeds. |

Mmm, the shadow dragon looks interesting, but I'm playing a Medium human, so I need Dragons who are Small. Medium, or Large. So far only the dracotaur meets fits bill. |

| WombleHunter04-18-06, 08:04 AM | Um - I'm pretty sure the (Dragonblood) subtype doesn't let you turn into dragons with Alter Self. smrtgmp's character works because he's a Dragonwrought Kobold, which specifically has the Dragon type. As a human, even a (Dragonblooded) one, you'll still have the Humanoid type. |

As a human, even a (Dragonblooded) one, you'll still have the Humanoid type. As a Dragonblooded character, you can be targeted by effects that only target dragons. An Alter Self spell that is cast to turn you into another kind of dragon can only target a dragon. Thats the logic I used on my DM, and be bought it, so the point is moot. |
