| shaselai02-17-05, 01:25 AM | I am trying to make a gish build with L9 spells or perhaps a really powerful fighter build. Since i am Evil i am wondering if there are any good builds combining the BOVD? i didnt see it in the library. thanks! |

The only class to advance spellcasting with every level is the Diabolist which will advance either Arcane or Divine spells with each level. However, you're only gaining 1/2 BAB and strong Will saves. I like Disciple of Dispater, a D10 class with full BAB, three good saves, divine bonus to weapon damage rolls, insight bonus to attack and damage rolls and Iron Power which increases threat range and specifies it stacks with Improved Critical. |
| Aricandor02-17-05, 04:20 AM | :uh-huh: The disciple of dispater must have some really harsh prereqs for it to have all that stuff. Or perhaps be a monk PrC that doesn't really advance basic monk abilities... |

That is unless it is an evil campaign  It does stop your character from progressing, but I believe it requires 4 BAB. Maybe a hexblade/DoD might be interesting... or if your a spellcaster with a lot of skills the Thrall to Demogorgon might be nicer, 2 full rounds I belive 2-3 times a day... Again this halts your progression. Possibly a Ur-Priest/DoD but your caster level will be crap and there are much better builds for gish. I believe a Sorceror 12/DoD 8 might not be bad though... level 6 spells, ability to rip through your opponents... however your armor proficiencies would go to waste. Cleric 10/DoD 10 might not be bad. No spell casting failure. If you tie this into a charger, you'll be buffing yourself and have some nice cure spells... |
| shaselai02-17-05, 02:10 PM | DoD isnt bad at all- with the threat range feat and all i can get a quadruple threat range increase so on a greatsword that is 12-20 :D . But the only problem with that is the spell part... too bad DoD doesnt have +1 caster level every char level :(. I am playing in an evil campaign by the way so i wouldnt mind so much. The Preq is +6 bab, combat expertise and powerattack and disciple of darkness. So i would be taking 2 feats i otherwise wasnt planning on taking. Wondering if there are any good multiclass with this? Seems later on in levels fighter lose out to high power spells and DoD probably falls in same category. Also, being a Disciple of an archdemon, does it restrict me in anyway rp wise? Like would i be fighting the archdemon's enemies for him or i am being controlled by him in anyway? |

You may have had your whole family killed when you were young which caused tremendous pain and suffering allowing you to have the festering anger disease. Every day you get +2 to str and -2 to con. However, with a level in cancer mage you are immune to the negative effects of diseases that you inherit. Therefore give it 20 years of tremendous suffering and you have... lets see... 3,660 (leap years)+10,950(15 other years)=+14,610 to your str score and no penalties to your con... thats a 7,300 modifier without anything else on your character. "Come out, come out wherever you are..." |
| webgear6802-17-05, 05:33 PM | bovd has very little in the options of going gish. would personally stick to standard gish build or go with a half fiend or half-dragon template, as it could be roleplayed as the evil part of your character. |
