Okay, yeah, corny title but, I'm hunting a good Marshall build. My DM has houseruled that they have a Fighter's BAB (GOOD) which changes the complection of the class quite a bit.

The party consists of a divine caster (Favored Soul IIRC), a rogue, a druid and a guy that changes characters every night...usually he tries a new tank.

We use the 32 point buy and any books are available as are mags.

Help!

How much of a Marshal do you want to be? Even with full BAB it is tough to justify more than 7 levels.

Bard 3/Marshal 7/Warchanter [CW] 10 would be a pretty straightforward combat 'enabler.'

Something like Marshal 1/Paladin 4/Chameleon 10 could be a very good fighter.

I wouldn't say that a full 20 levels is necessary...however, I would like a sizeable chunk (5 - 7 levels) to get the "feel of the class." I so despise dipping into classes.

Well, unfortunately Marshall is one of the Best Classes to dip into. :)

That Cha Bonus to Init, or one save, or damage while charging, or whatever it's used for is quite quite useful. The Major Auras are nice and Grant Move action cool but not the icing and not necessary.

Marshal 4 is pretty good.
Minor Auras: Over the Top (Cha in Dmg on Charges), Master of Tactics (Cha in Dmg when flanking... anything)
Major Aura: DR 1/-. Remember, if attack is reduced to 0 damage, and it had poison associated with it, you aren't subject to it. I know a lot of things that are not at all dangerous once you have DR 1/-.
Grant Move Action is pretty nice too. I've played in games where an easy encounter was challenging just because we couldn't get people into the room.

Over the Top is awesome. Especially if you are a mounted combatant. Spirited Charge with a lance is three times your Charisma to damage.

If Grant Move Action doesn't float your boat, take a look at this:

"House Ruled Marshal" 3/Favored Soul 3/Hospitaler 9/Master of Radiance 5 (Hospitaler 4, then Master of Radiance, then back to Hospitaler).

Perks:
1. Minor Auras. Over the Top and Master of Tactics
2. DR 1/- for you and all your friends.
3. Your auras are an excuse to tell people what to do in character. "He is swinging at your head!" "Go for his arm pit!"
4. Charisma Caster.
5. Turn Undead (at level 11).
6. Radiant Aura.
7. Searing Light as standard action while you are Radiating (level 12).
8. Sunbeam as full-round action while you are Radiating (level 15)
9. Mounted Combat pre-req means you are mounted (duh). But this means you can be mounted, use Sunbeam then move on the mount. Yipee!
10. d8's all around!
11. Lay on Hands for a lot of stabilization "1 pt heals."
