| Bonzai11-25-05, 04:56 PM | Necrocarnates can be pretty scary. Something I was toying with was this; Azurian Incarnate 7/Necrocarnate 13 1. Necrocarnum Acolyte 1. Expanded Soulmeld Capacity 3. Point Blank Shot 6. Bonus Essentia 9. Heart of Incarnum 12. Cobalt Presicion 15. Weapon Focus (Rays) 18. Split Chakra (soul) For this incarnate I wanted to focus on Ray attacks from the Necrocarnum touch meld, bound to the arm chakra. This makes me a little vulnerable to undead, but worse case I can use my zombies and I will do my best to aquire a disrupting morning star. My essentia limit for regular melds is 5, 6 for Necrocarnum melds. With the feat I can raise one of them by 1. That means if I use the feat on my ray attack, and get an arm chakra focus, I can deal 8d8 ray damage every turn. With Cobalt Precision I can improve my rays Crit %. The powerful thing about a Necrocarnate is that they have no max essentia pool. Granted, there is only so much that they can invest at one time, but that is why heart of incarnum is so nice. Any unused essentia increases my hp. This is particularly nice when used with Necrocarnum zombies, who reduce your hp anyways. As long as something dies, you can increase your hp. The book doesn't qualify what has to die either. All it says is that it had to be living. So in theory rats or bugs could work. Take advantage of this to boost your essentia to high lvls and ensure that you have decent hp to make up for what your zombies take from you. Lastly, take split Chakra (soul), so that you can wear magical armor. In combat, I will generally stay airborn and pepper them with rays, while my zombies engage in melee. Again, this build is weak against undead, but some changes in my meld selection and a good disrupting mace should do it. Thats my first try at an incarnum. Next up I will be working on a Totemist. |
