04-23-05, 02:00 AM i finally dusted off my XPH tonight and made a level 6 elan psion for a new campaign a friend is running.
my query is that i havent put much thought into psionics since maybe last year, and i am braindead at kicking sufficient @ss now.
help would be appreciated.
i havent picked alot of stuff yet like feats and powers, and other things are subject to change.

04-23-05, 02:07 AM Just get 4 metapsionic feats for epic and you'll be fine.

04-23-05, 02:36 AM If you're looking for cheese of the, say, Cheater of Mystra level, you won't find it in the XPH. From a purely optimization standpoint, psionics are not a powerhouse.

Really, pick and choose what you feel like. There are some clever stunts (Energy Conversion + Energy Wall is one of my favorites) and some really powerful powers if you know what you're doing (Time Hop), but nothing in particular stands out as "broken."

Except of course the Psion/Illithid Slayer combination.

04-23-05, 03:21 AM Wilders are breakable. Expanded Knowledge: Astral Construct and Boost Construct makes a halfway broken Wilder in only two feats; Expanded Knowledge: Claws of the Beast and specializing your Wilder20 build for combat does, too.

Synchronity steals actions from your future, so beware on it. However, if it's augmented, it can be ANY standard action that you ready, triggered on ANYTHING.

And you forgot Schism.

Doing these things gives you hands-down the most powerful nova I've ever seen, with this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=355779) as an example.

Mind you, you're an ultimate one-trick pony there.

(And wilders aren't breakable, not in the way mages or priests are. You may notice that Psychic Enervation actually gets WORSE as you level, for instance. DMs should expect a wilder to have exceptionally strong powers, but too few powers to be very versatile, and will often fry themselves.)
