Search isn't working for me right now... getting an odd error page.

Have any of you browsed through Lost Empires of Faerun yet? The magelord looks kindof promising.

Any builds with it yet?

The class is truly awesome. It's like the Loredelver from Races of Destiny on crack. You get spellcasting levels on all levels, sneak attack damage, and multiple signature spells (of your choice!). It's combining the best aspects of the rogue, the wizard, and the sorceror, all in one class!

It's no wonder the prereqs are impossible to meet before 11th level.

As far as I know... Richard Baker said something about the prereqs being wrong in the book. It was supposed to be 4th level arcane spells so that you COULD finish the PrC before Epic.

Correct me if I am wrong though... Couldn't you take wizard into Divine Oracle2 and get evasion anyway? If so, even if it were 5th level arcane, you could still get in it by level 10 anyway!

I dont have my books with me, but I think that can be done.

The Divine Oracle's ability is not evasion, and so technically doesn't qualify you. Spelldancer from Magic of Faerun, now that gives you evasion.

IIRC, Fiend Folio has the Dark ones, who got racial evasion.

Would they work, with LA buyoff?

This is a far cry from the boards beforehand about the magelord being sub-optimal. Guess blurring the line between sorcs and wizs to too hard for any character to resist.

Anyways, the class can be entered at lv11, and hence finished at lv20, just ready for epic progression. Go rogue2/wiz7/nar demonbinder1 and you gain the ability to cast 5th lv spells, so you can enter magelord, but you lose 3 caster lvs total, and you need 15 cha.

I like Magelord. Rogue 3/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 4/Magelord 9.
SA +7d6. Caster Level 17. BAB +10. Signature Supremacy(9th level spells).
In my book, SA +7d6 is about the rogue equivalent of a Gish. And you still get 9th level spells. It's quite nice. Depending on your preference. You could drop a level of Magelord for another of Arcane Trickster. You lose 1d6 SA for Improptu SA 1/day, and a Mastered 9th level spell.

Alternatively, Human Paragon 3/Wizard 5/Spelldancer 2/Magelord 10 will finish it Pre-Epic.

1 Dodge, Mobility
2 Combat Casting, Endurance
3 Weapon Focus: Ray
5 Improved Initiative
6 Spell Mastery
9 Signature Spell
12 FREE
15 FREE
18 Spell Mastery

Obviously this is better with Flaws, as the more metamagic feats you can use the capstone ability with, the better.

You don't get any mastered 9th level spells, though.
Which hurts, a little. I mean, there's nothing /wrong/ with using MoAA. But I think Magelord, for me, fills the need for Spellpool. It's my own personal spellpool, baby. :P

I like the Magelord as a nice finish to an AT. Or as a full out PrC of Choice, taking Spell mastery lots. Who need geometer, when you can do as well as the sorceror, without a spellbook? :P
