| Blas de Lezo11-14-05, 09:55 AM | I´m working on a "showing-off" build. This character will try to stand out at his best. It will be something like a "Treasure Hunter", capable of holding on his own. So, he will be able to survive in the wilderness and be a good tracker, but also to be an excellent streetwise and a city-survivor, so being the sunshine of a group. In combat he will deal maximun damage when possible, rivalizing with the party's tank. I've come to this build: Human 1. Rogue1: Two weapon fighting, Improved Initiative 2. Ranger1: Track*, Favored Enemy (Construct) 3. Ranger2: Rapid Shot*, Weapon Finesse 4. Rogue2 5. Rogue3: 6. Ranger3: Endurance*, Urban Tracking 7. Rogue4 8. Rogue5 9. Ranger4: Point Blank Shot 10. Rogue6 11. Rogue7 12. Ranger5: ?, Favored Enemy (Undead) 13. Rogue8 14. Rogue9 15. Ranger6: Manyshot*, Improved Rapid Shot 16. Rogue10 17. Rogue11 18. Rogue 12: ? 19. Rogue 13 20. Horizon Walker (Underground, for Darkvision) Final BAB: +16/+11/+6 Final Sneak Attack: +7d6 Special Abilities: Crippling Strike, Slippery Mind This build will have always maxed: Survival, Hide/MS, Listen/Spot, Diplomacy, Gather Information, UMD, Search, Disable Device, Appraise. Thanks to his improved initiative, sneak attacks, rapid shots and 2wf, this stealthy character will be able to deal very good damage, but his problem will be crit-inmune foes, as constructs or undeads. Choosing them as favored enemies will help a bit. But the main point is: Do you know any way of getting Turn Undead without going into cleric? Also, if you know how to improve this build, any help will be welcomed. Core, Completes and Eberron material allowed. |

Soldier of Light (3.0 Dieties and Demigods). um... I'm sure there's a way I'm missing here. Look at paladin-ish PrCs. There might be one in Complete Divine (or 3.0 Defenders of the Faith, which CD is based off of). Beyond that, you'd have to try to get Sacred Exorcist, which unfortunately you really have no way to qualify for. Rogues have absolutely no problem against crit-immune foes. There are spells that allow you to sneak attack golems, undead, and probably plants (such as the one in the Miniatures Handbook). I -think- CAdv has one of them, but I don't have the books infront of me. |

If that's correct, I'm going to rebuild my character. :) |
| Blade271811-14-05, 10:12 AM | Get an use-activated item of bone talisman. It's a Druid spell from some book that lets you turn undead. Razing Strike is a feat that lets you sneak attack constucts (by sacrificing an arcane spell) or undead (if sacrificing a divine spell). If you like this, then make sure you have enough Wis to get Ranger spellcasting. Vine strike lets you sneak attack plants for one round. Grave strike and golem strike allow the same for undead and constructs, respectively. |
