Any Way to Cast Divine Spells without Taking a Divine Class Level? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I do not think the consecrate and purify spell feats do the trick. Sanctified spells do not work. Is there any feat I am missing?

Obviously, I am looking to do an uninterrupted Dweomerkeeper wizard progression.

Thanks

Not to my knowledge. And the Southern Magician feat from either UE or RoF does *NOT* provide arcane spellcasting, it simulates it. And that's a big difference. Read the exact wording of the feat, especially the bottom paragraph.

I agree, but that would only be to get arcane spellcasting (for a cleric build). I think you get there with the Arcane Schooling feat (or one of the PGtF feats).

I am hoping there is an analogue for divine casting for a wizard build.

You could take arcane disciple to get divine spells. I don't think you want to go all the way up to 10 in rainbow servant, but that's another way.

I believe you can use magical training from Forgotten Realms for full divine casting. . . But I really don't know of anything that goes the other way. . .

You transfer some of your currently prepared spells, and the ability to cast them to another creature.

That's from Imbue with Spell Ability. And the cool part is, the duration is Permanent until discharged, making it a "more or less permanent" ability for the purposes of prequisites.

By the RAW, a target person imbued with Imbue With spell Ability can technically use those spells/spellcasting to qualify for PrC's.

Just a little known factoid that causes DM's anguish to no end. Although be sure to take a PrC that does not have explicit text stating you lose all class abilities if your PrC pre-requirements are diminished or become invalid.

CW states that you lose all abilities when you dont fullfill the prereqs anymore.
i wouldnt go with this one...

Imbue with Spell ability might look like a cheap route to a PrC, but when you lose all class abilities because you were hit with dispel magic, you'll start wishing you'd done something else, like spending a level on cleric for two cool domain abilities, access to spell trigger items, and a couple of minor useful spells. :)

For Dweomer Keper BuildsI suggest talking your DM into giving Mystra the Force domain so you can reroll that crappy fireball once per day. :)

Funny said:CW states that you lose all abilities when you dont fullfill the prereqs anymore. Sadly, this ruling should be in the PHB/DMG for the significant number of people who do not use anything but core material. And if I recall correctly, the 3.5 DMG Errata was posted *after* the CW book came out.

Arcane Disciple doesn't give an arcane caster divine spells--it allows him to cast spells from a particular domain as arcane spells.

Maybe so, Snow, but you can't cry "RAW" and then say, "Oh, but some people don't have access to THAT particular rule."

The trick doesn't work by the RAW--and it obviously shouldn't work by any other standard.

Catch-22. Either way, it falls on its face.

regardless what you think caelic, that's a rule that should be core, as it has profound impact on the structure of prestige classes and character progression. its totally stupid that they did not put that in the DMG section for prestige classes - otr the 3.5 errata for that matter.

its a hugely important rule squirreled away in a quasi splatbook . And thats just bad game design and bad knowlegde expectations to throw on the entire spectrum of d&d gamers.

Check the 10th level ability for the Rainbow Servant in the Complete Divine. Strange to me but... that's one way it appears.

this is all IMO, so take it with a grain of salt:

1. I agree with you that it should be in the PHB or DMG errata;
2. I still think it's 'totally stupid' to try to munchkin your way into a PRC by using a mere legalese technicality like that. It just goes against common sense. I understand it, but it's still (-1, Lame).

Anyway, just my $0.02.

Cheers,
