I'm looking for a feat, a spell, a magic item, a PrC ability, etc. that will allow someone to use their Strength bonus instead of their Dexterity bonus to attack rolls made with a ranged weapon. Does one even exist?

Brutal Throw from Complete Adventurer. Warhulk 3 also gives you this ability as a class feature. However, since you're counted as having no ranks in Int-, Wis- or Cha-based skills when using Warhulk, I recommend that path not.

Thanks a million. Does Brutal Throw only apply to thrown weapons? Is there anything else that could be used for bows as well?

And ofc there is always the solution of Mighty Composite bows.

Mighty composite bows work for damage, not for attack rolls... :teach:

Is your goal to tie ranged to hit to Strength, or not tie it to Dex? You could take Zen Archery, and use Wis to hit with ranged weapons....

No, no STR to ACC for bows. Which is a shame, because if that were the case, bows would go back into vogue.

As it is. your best bet for a STR-based ranged attacker is to use Tempest Stormwind's Harpoonist with Brutal Throw, Ranged Power Attack (there's another feat with Brutal Throw and Power Attack as a req) and do hideous, horrible things with Two In A Blow and Mighty Cleaving weapons.
