There are several classes that have pretty cool spell-like abilities, but that take caster levels. Usually, a metamagicked spell or increase in spells is better than pretty much any special ability. However, what if you could add metamagic a spell-like ability?

In the complete Arcane there is Maximize Spell-like Ability and Heighten Spell-like Ability. They mention a Maximized, Empowered spell-like ability, but unless I am missing something, there is no feat that allows that.....

So how can you add metamagicks to spell-like abilities by RAW? Can you use metamagic rods? Are there feats that allow this? Any spells that help?

In Monster Manual there's 'Empower Spell-Like Ability'

And theoretically, you could petition your DM to allow you to convert any metamagic feat into an equivalent 'Meta Spell-Like Ability' feat.

all the useful meta magic feats have spell-like equvilents. in complete arcane there are some and the rest are in the 3.5 monster manual.

I also thought I read that any Sudden metamagic feat could be applied to a spell-like ability.

The MM also have the Quicken Spell-like Ability in the Titans section of the book. Nasty things, Titans.....
