| saru10-31-05, 03:19 AM | hello, i am planning to play a new character based on the vigilante Prc from complete Adventurer. We're playing in forgotten realms and are allowed by Dm to use all forgotten realms and complete series book. built i can see is : rogue 5/vigilante 5/arcane tricker 5/X 5 or rogue 3/fighter 2/vigilante 5/arcane tricker 5/X 5 The idea is to get full casting capacity of vigilante, but after that i don't know what to do neither to finish build nor to choose feats. If anyone got some idea i would be interested to see them. thank you. |

Skills: List is a notch below bard and rogue, and a notch above ranger. It is also between these classes with 6+int... But see below. Detect Evil: 3k as an item. Streetwise: Small competence bonus on unopposed skill checks. Smite the Guilty: Weak smite that will almost never be usable. Quick Search: Searching takes a long time anyway. Half an eternity is still an eternity. All practical uses are covered with the Quick Rcconoiter feat. Speak with Dead: 150 gp per casting from the local cleric, and will almost always lead to greater rewards. Quick Hide: Feat: Improved Diversion Dimensional Anchor: 4th level cleric/sorcerer/wizard spell, part of a relatively weak level for clerics and often readily available if they have half a wit. Mettle: Gotten about 10 levels earlier by Hexblades, or 8 levels earlier by Pious Templars, but isn't terribly effective anyway if your fort saves are this bad. (Most will saves are Will Negates anyway). BAB/Saves/Spells: Almost exactly the same as bard with only a few spells not on the bard spell list, yet limited to 4th level. Bard is (falsely) regarded as the worst class in the game, and it is BETTER than Vigilante. That should speak volumes. Instead of being a Vigilante, be a CG Bard and work outside the town watch against crime. |
