| Khazra Reborn09-25-04, 01:15 PM | Come on lads, lets show those monks how its done I really like this Prc, & was wondering what builds people have tried, these are the two i have so far: Goliath 1.Barbarian1 mountain rage: power attack 2.barbarian2 3.barbarian3 :frozen beserker 4.barbarian4 5.barbarian5 6.fighter1 :improved unarmed strike,TWF 7.fighter2 :improved TWF 8.fighter3 9.frostrager1 :frozen beserker 10.frostrager2 11.frostrager3 12.frostrager4 :greater twf 13.frostrager5 14.fighter4 :instantaneous rage 15.FB1:intimidating rage 16.FB2 17.FB3 18.FB4 :reckless rage 19.FB5 20.FB6 The good thing about this build is that it gets good PA abilities aswell as an insane strength. Yeah, all FBs do that, but this one does it unarmed :D . You also have 9 attacks a round with possibility of rend. I also like the combo of mountain rage & frostrager as when you rage you go up to large size & also get bigger due to the ice, just a cool mental image. Goliath 1.Barbarian1 mountain rage: power attack 2.barbarian2 3.barbarian3 :endurance 4.barbarian4 5.barbarian5 6.stoneblessed 1(dwarf) :improved unarmed strike 7.stoneblessed 2(dwarf) 8.stoneblessed 3(dwarf)+2 con 9.frostrager1 :frozen beserker 10.frostrager2 11.frostrager3 12.frostrager4 :Twf 13.frostrager5 14.deepwarden1 15.deepwarden2 :snowtiger beserker 16.battlerager1 17.battlerager2 18.battlerager3 :ice troll beserker 19.fighter1 :improvedTWF 20.fighter2 :greater TWF The reason for not just being a dwarf for this build was for the better unarmed damage. If i had a ring of enlarge id just replace stone blessed with dwarf paragon. Things i like about this build is that i get all 8 attacks at the end of a charge with possiblity of rend. It is also capable of having AC though the roof (by barbarian standards) dueto con to AC & +10 Na. Please give thoughts, comments, suggestions & feel free to submit your own frostrager builds, Thanks, Khazra |
| Khazra Reborn09-26-04, 09:47 AM | :bump: come on, ive been waiting years for an unarmed barbarian................. |

We interpreted the 3.5 rules to be that you only get multiple attacks from BAB when using (non-natural)weapons. For example, when a Druid Wildshapes, he gets the attacks of the new form, not his number based on BAB. This is supported by the fact that monsters, even those with very high BABs, only get a claw/claw/bite (or even just claws or bite). Are we wrong on this? Any of the optimization Gurus wanna comment? On a side note, one of our players wants to do an Uldra Frostrager cause of the cold-touch synergy, plus there is a feat that gives them another point of damage on top of that. |

From the excerpt: In addition, a frostrager's unarmed attacks deal 1d6 points of damage plus 1d4 points of cold damage on a successful hit. If the frostrager is Small, his unarmed attacks deals 1d4 points of damage, and if the frostrager is Large, his unarmed attacks deals 1d8 points of damage. As you can see, there not natural attacks but unarmed attacks, which still uses BaB. Other wise it would be rubbish (unless you had acess to rapid strike). |
| allenchan09-27-04, 06:14 PM | Can someone tell me what/where mountain rage is? |
| manadrew09-27-04, 07:54 PM | Can someone tell me what/where mountain rage is? It's from the barbarian variant for Goliaths in Races of Stone. |
| Mancer09-28-04, 01:39 AM | Drew, you're crazy, man. I like you, but you're crazy. Cix fo' life! |
| Gerdreg09-28-04, 07:48 AM | Another template I think would be cool is based on the blurb about Druid/Frostragers shaping into frozen animals. If you wanted to keep full BAB, you could achieve the same cool (pun intended) effect by going Barb 6/ Frostrager 5/ Bear Warrior X. I don't have the book with me but I think their is a feat that allows you to wildshape into cold-based stuff. I don't think it would be too hard to get a GM to allow this for Bear Warrior forms too. |
| Gol09-28-04, 09:47 AM | You can start Stoneblessed at level 3 you know.... |

Dire polar bear? You'd probaly look like that anyway  I can't believe so few people seem to like this Prc? From a min-max point of view it can get quite a few attacks (the first build has 9, 10 with a speeded am of natural attacks, 11 with rend) Im thinking of playing a frostrager in an upcoming game but now im worried imjust going to die. |
