Anyone have a Ghengis Khan build? [Archive] - Wizards Community

My gut would say Kishi Charger mixed with something like Marshal or Orc Warlord, depending on alignment, race and circumstances.

11-12-05, 09:32 AM I'm not going to do a whole build for you, but here's a little aid. The reason the Mongol Hordes were so effective was because they where hit and run mounted archers that avoided melee combat, thusly eliminating a good portion of the risk involved in middle ages combat. A human fighter can get these three feats at first level: mounted combat, mounted archery, improved mounted archery(complete warrior). As long as you have those feats, it doesn't matter what else you have, you are ghengis khan and can have your light warhorse kick up the dust, full running across the battlefield, and you only take -2 attack penalty.

11-12-05, 02:32 PM How much does Ghenghis Khan really need a build? He was a competent warrior to be sure, but he was a leader, not a common soldier. I'd expect him to be somewhere between sixth and nineth level, with at least part of that being in some leadership-orientated class or prestige class.

But yeah, definitely focus on riding and shooting. High intelligence, high charisma.

11-12-05, 03:41 PM He could go for a mounted archery type build at low levels, then at level 6 and beyond focus all on leadership. I'm thinking a combination of the "Double Followers" feat and the "Cohort only 1 level lower" feat. Then his cohort would have the feats too, and his cohort ... and so on down the chain until you hit pre-6th-level. The string of cohorts would be his lieutenants and the combined huge mass of followers would make a pretty good horde.
