Third level. Warblade 1/ warlock 1/ rogue 1 human

starting with warblade use greatsword. only important thing is getting punishing stance (bonus 1d6 damage -2 ac) and rapid assualt (feat) (plus 1d6 damage to all first round melee attacks) along with improved iniative.

2 warlock, horrid blow, plus 1d6 damage

3rd rogue 1d6 sneak attack and monkey grip as feat

7d6 in first round. Am I doing this right? do these stack? (5d6 after)
If so then maybe scout next for skirmish? go back to warblade? what are your suggestions?

Large problem: prior to Strength modifiers, you're swinging at a whopping -1 to hit, as your BAB is only 1 at third level and you're taking a -2 for Monkey Grip.

Keep in mind the benefits of a high strength (18 maybe?) and opponents being flat footed, along with flanking, and I'm sure with that damage party members wouldn't mind using aid another.

But yes, I was considering one level of fighter and blowing it on weapon focus to bring it up.

Wouldn't they be doing their own thing in combat? Just curious?

Please do not take Monkey Grip as a feat. Is -2 to hit really worth the extra 3.5 dmg avg?

the problem I see is that you're taking big penalties to bab, ac, attack etc and still not doing that much damage 29.5 is ok but builds that make fewer comprimises can deal more

take a look at the maximize damage at third level thread

the top builds do about a hundred damage

Get rid of Monkey Grip. For -2 to attack you get an extra 3.5 damage on average. Get Power Attack. For +2 to attack you get an extra 4 damage. Also, using hidious blow allows your opponent to make an AoO. Avoid that invocation like the plague.

Monkey grip isn't all that hot, and the build won't be an ultra-high damage dealer even if it does hit.

The thing to realise is that every +1 to hit can equal anywhere from +5% to +95% damage. Doing the maths very roughly:
Take the average AC case of +10%.
The -2 you're taking from monkey-grip is giving you -20% to damage.
Lets say your average damage berfore monkey grip is 18 or over.
80% of 18+3.5 = 17.2
Your average damage with monkey grip against an opponent with that AC is thus lower than it would be with a normal-sized weapon.
Now those numbers are very rough, the threshold shifts depending on what your average damage is, and what your normal chance of hitting is. What I will say, however, is that monkey grip becomes a worse and worse choice as average damage increases and your attack bonus lowers (as it does when you take your levels of warlock and rogue). If you're using a two-hander, it certainly shouldn't be considered unless you're already power-attacking for full on each attack (+4 damage from -2 compared to +3.5 damage).

Use the Unearthed Arcana Thug Variant: Trades the feat tree for a sneak attack tree. You'll need to be human for your rapid assualt...

Spell Thief also provides 1d6 sneak attack. I am certain you could get more than 10 sneak attack style dice (skrimish, precise strike, etc, etc, etc).

Assassin has sneak attack die on the first level, and skills only to join, plus killing someone and being evil.

And I'd also drop the monkey grip. It just isn't really worth that much.

Make certain you get fractional BAB and saves - otherwise your BAB is going to be like, 4 at level 20.

Wow, lot of replies. I was thinking of popping one or two of these on my players and maybe as a pc as I just thought of it in the car. Thanks for all the help!
