A great war that started from a particularly virulent strain of vampirism (Necroscope Wamphyri, anyone?) unleashed a chain of events that brought monsters from the Far Planes into the world, the heroes pulled something outta their rear-ends, saved what was left of the world, yadda yadda..... Now, the world is still a little more primal, but some amount of time has passed allowing civilization to replenish itself. So, here's what we as far as the gaming world: |-------------------------------------------------------------------| The bar on the right represents a metropolis that is recruiting soldiers of all alignments and classes, training them, and paying them, which is where my comrades and I are currently located. The line in the middle represents the vast, uncharted wilderness full of dangerous monsters, etc, etc. The bar on the left represents a civilization that was indestructible (Golden Saucer from FF7), and is *rumored* to still be there. The Imperial Army is offering a reward of 1,000,000 gp to the first set of individuals that makes a successful trade route between the two places (at least 1,000 miles from each other) So, we (the PCs) have ranks, we have training, and we follow orders, such as doing jobs, spying, snooping, the whole nine yards. We are all currently level 4. We've gone up in rank from Soldier to 2nd Lieutenants. Which means I now have 10 1st level NPCs completely under my control, that will follow my orders, that I can send on missions, that can create magical items for me, and that level and gain their own ranks when they successfully complete assignments. So, basically, I can create 10 1st level NPCs, fully under my control. They can be as simple as (Name, Race, Class, Level, Rank), or I can fully write character sheets, complete with feats (that I pick), equipment available (which I pick), skills (which I pick), gender, history, however deep I feel like detailing them. So, since I lurk here on the boards, and see some of the most brilliant abuses of numbers in the history of gaming, I thought you guys might wanna help me out to get my 10 person squad to "be the best they can be." ;) So, here's what I've got for my 10 (all female squadron) 1st level characters: Me: Warlock, 4th level, Lawful Evil. *note: All characters are lawful evil (since I get to pick alignments ;)) 1. Artificer 2. Rogue 3. Scout 4. Dark Paladin (Paladin of Tyranny, UA) 5. Warmage 6. Warmage 7. Necromancer 8. Necromancer 9. Psion (Telepath) 10. Cleric of Asmodeus (yes, the army uses these, too....) Now, granted, they're all level 1, but they level up, and they can multiclass just like any other character. So, is this a good list? Would you recommend dropping some for other classes? Any good builds that you can think of using these characters? I'm leaning towards an all-Illumian unit, since that's what I am. Any help is appreciated. Have an excellent day. :D |
