| Chathsolen04-29-05, 09:10 PM | Greetings all. I was wondering if there was a way to Optimize this dwarf for a friend of mine. He is a lvl 2 Dwarf Fighter with a Major Bloodline in Red Dragon. His main stats are: STR 18 Dex 17 Con 19 He is currently a 2-W Fighter using Warhammers. He likes to be a tank (lots of hit points while dealing with good damage. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you |

Barbarian, for rage, better movement, and uncanny dodge. Deepwarden to let you use your con bonus rather than your dex bonus to AC (which, thanks to your Barb levels, you won't lose). Oh, and generally the two melee PrC's with the best damage are the Dervish and the Frenzied Berserker. In the above build, probably neither is an option, but FYI... |
| Narcanos04-30-05, 04:37 AM | Alternately, Ranger 3/fighter 4/Deepwarden 2/Dwarven Defender 10, Horizon Walker 1. You can take that one level of Horizon walker at pretty much any point after level 5, which allows you to resist the effects of fatigue if you take the desert terrain (so you can sleep in your full-plate instead of whimpering under a mithril nighty). If you're not stoked about weapon specialization, you could also drop a couple levels of fighter in exchange for more eclectic HW attack bonuses. Your best best is probably to try out either a ranged attacker who fights using defensive stance, or else have someone enlarge you so you can swipe huge chunks out of the battlefield. A returning hammer of some kind would be cool. |

Build would look something like: Fighter 2/ Dwarven paragon 3/ Pious Templar 4/ Hammer of Morardin 10 Which leaves you 1lvl to play with Instead of dwarven paragon you can also pick up Hexblade if you are not good or any other full bab class like ranger or barbarian. regards deDuke |
| Chathsolen04-30-05, 09:40 AM | Intresting ideas. I talked to him and he's not intrested in Ranger or Barbarian (doesn't fit his RP style) pious templar, Hammer of morardin, DeepWarden i'll have check out and see if he's intrested in those. |
| Chathsolen04-30-05, 11:49 PM | after much talking he decided to go Barbarin 2 then Frenzed Berserker 10 and then Fighter levels as fillers. thanx for your comments |
| Eyeless Blond05-01-05, 12:24 AM | Horizon Walker 1 with Desert terrain will still be good for this character: immunity to fatigue is nice for post-rage downing, plus the whole sleeping in fullplate thing. I remember there's some divine build that gives ways of negating the negatives of frenzy, but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone remember that? |
| MikeN05-01-05, 01:42 AM | Funny Slaughter's old-school build used Holy Liberator with Frenzied Berzerker. 3.0 Holy Liberator gave you immunity to compulsion at level 3, so you couldn't be made to kill the rest of your party, and you got Cha bonus to all your saving throws beforehand as well, so it was harder to make you frenzy and easier for you to stop frenzying. |
