Apostle of Peace ideas/help for Planescape [Archive] - Wizards Community

I've had so many things I want to try out for Planescape. First I wanted to be a summoner, then a cleric, then a bard, and the list goes on. In order to be different, I was trying to come up with an idea involving Bard, Wizard, Apostle of Peace, Sublime Chord, Wild Mage, Mystic Theurge and possibly Divine Oracle. I know there's a thread somewhere about something close to this or at least somewhere I can look and get ideas but search is acting up again.

Books Allowed: CORE, Complete Series, Unearthed Arcana, and Book of Exalted Deeds That's it, nothing else.

Race: Human or Chaos Gnome (only thing allowed from the other books)

Stats: 18, 18, 18, 16, 15, 14

Feats: Sacred Vow, Vow of Poverty, Vow of Nonviolence, Vow of Peace...

From there, the feats I should take are fuzzy. I need Magical Aptitude for Wild Mage but Wild Mage isn't necessary. I was also thinking Nonlethal Substitution (duh), and then the Spell Penetration feats and also Practiced Spellcaster.

Goal: 9th level arcane and divine would be nice :)

Other party members: rogue, 2 clerics, 2 fighters

If someone just posts the link to another thread that might help me that would work as well.

Reasoning behind classes:
Apostle of Peace- who needs to fight?
Bard/Wizard (maybe Sorceror)- arcane and bard stuff
Sublime Chord- song of arcane power (is it worth it in something like this?)
Divine Oracle- fill levels
Mystic Theurge- last levels
Wild Mage- the wild magic/practiced spellcaster thing

It looks like you have the divine casting down - you should really focus on arcane spellcasting to support your party members.

A simple Wizard 10/Celestial Mystic 10 might be good - Celestial Mystic gets all sorts of nifty abilities that might come in handy as a planar traveler.

Wizard 6/Geometer 2/Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 7/Divine Oracle 5 might be cool, although you'd have to suck up the Skill Focus(Know-Rel) requirement.

You don't take Sublime Chord to get Song of Arcane Power (although if you can pump up your Perform check, its worth it) - you take Sublime Chord as a Bard to get higher level spells than you'd normally be allowed to have.

In all likelyhood, the party will probably split up into smaller groups. That's why I wanted both arcane and divine. You're right about the sublime chord, though. I still want to work Apostle of Peace in. If I do a little more tweaking I can do the simple:

Bard 7/Divine Oracle 2/AoP 1/SC 1/MT 9

That works right? I dunno, I wish I could find that thread.

What would be a more arcane version of that? Something like this?:

Wizard 7/Divine Oracle 2/Apostle of Peace 1/Mystic Theurge 10

Not that bad. Again, advice would help.

You mean this thread (http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=340926&origin=) ?

As for the Wizard-ly version, I am by no means the master of Apostle of Peace arcane/divine builds, but this is my very first attempt at such a thing. Others will come along and smash this build to pieces. But a very bare bones build would look like:

Wizard 9/Aop 2/MT 8/Wizard 10.

That's 18 levels of Wizard spellcasting, and 10 levels of AoP spellcasting.

How about a Half-elf Bard [RoD]/Druid/Divine O/Emissary of B [BoED]/Apostle of P/Sacred C [CAd]/Fochlucan L?

That seems like enough PrCs and spellcasting to satisfy anyone, as well as actually being really good at diplomacy.
