| HippieKiller06-04-04, 06:01 PM | Not killing, stopping your party-members from killing. This is maybe to much to handle, what if my allie gets a crit and cuts of somebody´s head? Do I get punished? and why???? It was an accident, and now I need atonement  A waste of time for an accident. It´s also very frustrating for my party-members, what if I have a chaotic good barbarian in the party? It´s impossible to stop him befor second lvl AoP. And how do we get exp? the waging peace bit in chapter 2 of BoED is nice but sounds rather boring for the people I play with, it seems like I´ll get all the roleplaying and they can´t fight too much, what does it leave them? A different part I´m just exploring the possiblities for a AoP, so more technical: What is the best build????? I was thinking either monk/cleric, monk/paladin or monk/druid. The monk will give me the nonlethal damage and some attack power, the cleric will give me some good spells to start with and strong turning abilities. The paladin will give me lay on hands, amazing saves (I will get high charisma), an aura and a possible mount. The druid will give me heal spells, a companion but is a lesser choice IMHO. These are basicly my issues and questions, any comments? btw: The search didn´t work so apologize if this is the 1000000th post about this :) |
| Devant06-04-04, 06:33 PM | There is no way to play an apostle of peace in any standard campaign. Now in a Exalted campaign or as a DM tool it's doable. |
| HippieKiller06-05-04, 05:43 AM | I just found out we´re gonna play an exalted demon hunting campaign, is it doable do you´ll think? |
| Funny Slaughter06-05-04, 07:41 AM | its more a roleplaying-question. the class is very powerful and you can do nifty builds with it, absolutely no question. but you need your whole party-setup synergized with your build. if your buddies are ok with that i would go with the apostle, its sure much fun to play and an important experience for even a long-time player to do something totally different. gs Funny |
| HippieKiller06-05-04, 07:46 AM | what kind of party would fit around this PC?? I´d think a paladin, and a wizard (both exalted) |

Depends where you're doing the demon hunting. As long as it's not on their home-turf, you'll be fine since you can cast spells like dismissal and banishment (works against elementals as well). And if worse comes to worse, there's always his censure fiends ability. Another viable campaign he'd be good would be an undead-hunting campaign. |
| HippieKiller06-05-04, 09:35 AM | What do you consider hometurf??? The nine layers of hell? or also different planes? |
| charlesatan06-05-04, 10:16 AM | Originally posted by HippieKiller What do you consider hometurf??? The nine layers of hell? or also different planes? The plane that they belong to. Remember that Outsiders who are in their own plane aren't considered extraplanar, hence rendering Dismissal, Banishment, and Holy Word ineffective. |
| Funny Slaughter06-05-04, 03:20 PM | i think if your apostle goes demon-hunting on the nine layers of hell he should improve his knowledge(the planes) to something above -20... :D what you are discussing now is roleplaying, check with your buddies and come back when its about your build. gs Funny |
| TerrickTerran06-05-04, 03:36 PM | Demons could be on the Nine Planes of Hell(well the first layer anyways). Just like you'll probably occasionally find Devils in the Abyss. The eternal war continues.:D |
| cryptictravler06-05-04, 07:05 PM | Monk1/ Druid 19 is a sweet build with Vo Poverty and Peace. You have a huge AC and if they hit, your body smashes their weapon. Plus you can grapple like you wouldn't believe. That is certainly ok. Also the Complete Warrior, judicator. Get big HP and then hog tie everything. |
