| necrosnoop11006-26-05, 11:04 AM | So with the Ur-Priest PrC you can have access to regular 9th level Cleric spells at 14th level. Q: Is there a way to have access to regular 9th level Wiz/Sor spells at 14th level? Thanks, Necro Edit: Ur-Priest grants 9th level spells at 14th level |
| Caelic06-26-05, 11:17 AM | Slight correction: with Ur-Priest, you can have access to ninth level spells at 14th level. (XXX5/UrP9) Thus far, there's no similarly-unbalanced Arcane class. ;) |

| lonewolf06-26-05, 11:25 AM | I think that beside the usual Illithid Savant Abuse, there is no faster way to get lvl9 arcane spells early. Nar Demonbinder gets lvl8 spells pretty fast, but the spell selection is VERY weak. |
| necrosnoop11006-26-05, 11:27 AM | OT: How were the designers ever thinking that Ur-Priest was balanced? |
| Caelic06-26-05, 12:55 PM | Who ever said that the designers were going for "balanced?" If everything was "balanced," this board wouldn't exist, and people wouldn't rush out to buy the newest book with the crunchiest prestige classes every couple of months. That said, I think the logic of the Ur-Priest went something like, 1. "Well, it's mainly for NPCs, and we stipulate that in the BoVD so it's okay." 2. "Uhm...the Ur-Priest's the most popular part of the BoVD." 3. "Okay, then, stick it in Complete Divine to boost sales." |

| catharz06-26-05, 02:30 PM | Beholder Mage + PAO, Sha'ir/MT - Customer Service. |
| Dark_and_Stormy06-26-05, 10:29 PM | Wondered how long it would take for Catharz to put his Sha'ir build on there. 3hrs, 26 minutes. Glad to see you've not lost it yet, my good man. BTW, where was Sha'ir again? I was looking for it the other day... I REALLY like the Beholder Mage path. Plus, you're a Beholder. Bonus points for being a big bad boy. |
| slade_caizer06-26-05, 10:36 PM | How quickly can one complete the Sublime Chord? I seem to remember it gives 9th level spells...or I thought it did. I'm probably thinking of something else. |
| Mist of Shadows06-27-05, 12:37 AM | Well it has requirements such as knowledge arcana 13 and listen 13 meaning that you can't get into it before level 11 sadly otherwise yes it has 9th level spells |
| beaver102406-27-05, 12:58 AM | OT: How were the designers ever thinking that Ur-Priest was balanced? This is a cleric prestige class. It's ok for clerics to be overpowered because hardly anyone plays them. |
| Zardnaar06-27-05, 01:20 AM | The UR Priest also isn't that good. If you stasrt at higher levels and use the feat practised spellcaster hoever.... |
