arcane archer build or achery feats. [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-11-04, 12:05 PM I was just wondering if anyone knows a good arcane archer build.
Also, if anyone knows any great archery feats, let me know.

02-12-04, 12:16 AM How many levels are you talking about? If you have Rapid Shot, say from taking Rangers, take Improved Rapid Shot as it removes the -2 to hit per shot. I'd avoid taking Many Shot unless your bow's got a couple bonuses on it, like Holy or Bane. I found I've almost never needed to fire two arrows as a standard action.

Arcane Archer has a rather poor Will Save, so always keep that in mind when building a character. I personally like taking a few levels of Order of the Bow Initiate to balance things out, and the Close Combat Shot is really handy for archers. It lets you use your bow in melee range without involking attacks of opportunity.

02-12-04, 07:29 AM The best Arcane archer 'builds' only use 2 levels of the prestige class to get imbue arrow and use the other levels to max out caster level and BAB bonus by taking lots of levels in Eldritch Knight and maybe 1 level in spellsword.

Ftr 1/ Wiz 6/ EK 10/ SpS 1/ AA 2

Or something like that.
