I'm not sure how many people realize this, but personal spells can be cast on people other than the caster, assuming the caster is at least a 2nd level Arcane Archer and the prospective target is willing to get shot.

That Imbue Arrows ability really pays off best for an AA (of which I think it is only worth a 2 level investment) when used in conjunction with the Havok Mage's Battlecast ability. At least you can get 2 arrows off in that round .... plus 2 spells at higher levels once you get Quickened spells up & running. That's 4 multi-tasked actions at higher levels.

Do you have any builds you'd like to share that take advantage of that synergy?

Hmm, I posted a build a while ago that made use of quicken spells and some higher level abilities from arcane archer. The basic idea was to use arcane eye and other divination spells to locate a person in a dungeon, then use a fireball-imbued phase arrow to blast them without coming anywhere near them (not the most optimum build, but it was interesting at least). The general concensus was that the imbue arrow ability was poorly worded, and gives two different ways to use the ability:

1. As a standard action, imbue the spell and fire the arrow.
2. Imbue the arrow, and it has to be fired during the turn it is imbued.

Personally, I thought it would be possible to quicken-imbue a spell and fire the arrow as an attack action.

What point does this rambling have? Basically, the Battlecast ability is a full-round action, and you get to make an attack and cast a spell. If you side that it takes a standard action to imbue an arrow and fire it, you wouldn't be able to battlecast and use the imbued arrow.
