Arcane Combos [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-07-06, 05:55 PM I'm making a level 21 sorc, and I'm in dire need of ways to make my DM cry.
If the esteemed public could please donate all the combos you know of, that would be greatly apreciated.
Human, lvl 21 sorc
Note, almost any book in 3.5, plus a house ruled 3.0 timestop, and Human only

05-08-06, 08:38 PM Human only? I was going to say do a small character, a gnome or halfling, and take levels in Sentinal of Bharrai (Book of Exalted Deeds). Now put a permanent Reduced Person on yourself. One of Sentinals special abilities at higher level is to become a Dire Bear as often as they like... Tiny little man to Huge slobbering bear in a blink of an eye. Now start using that feat Arcane Strike to start dishing out some sick damage.

Best combat tank I've ever played with was a Halfling Sorcerer with polymorph and Arcane Strike. Polymorph into a dragon, and start burning spells to full his Arcane Strike and he just chewed threw foes. Party could just stand back and start thowing buffs on him to make it all worse.

With Extraordinary Concentration your DM might let you get away with calling down your Sentinal's Quickened Lightning Storm bolts as free actions each round. (might not though, depends on if he considers calling the bolt part of concentrating on the spell which it can be argued its not, but if not there are other badnesses to look at, Like Telekinetically grappeling your foe as a free action as you savage him with your claws.

And of course one of the ultimate wrongnesses in epic spellcasting is taking the epic feat Permanent Emination with Anti-magic Field. Lets you have an anti-magic field at will. With Extraordinary Spell Aim it becomes an Anti-magic field centered on you but not effecting your personal magic either.
